I bought a LG LED TV, Model No- 32 LV 2130 from Great Eastern Trading Co, 20, Old Court House Street, Kolkata-700001 against their Cash Memo no- 13166 on 24-10-2011 for Rs. 31000/-.The salesman of LG TV MR. Nijam told me to provide a wrist watch as diwali gift available against the purchase from the company. He also told me that wrist watch is not available today and it will be provided within two-three days. I told him to provide me something in writing and he said that it is not required and he will give me the gift when i pay visit to their shop after two-three days. I again requested him to give me something in writing and he then wrote in one corner of the bill as 'Gift Due' without providing any stamp or signature. I told him that my employer pays me back the cost of the TV when I submit the bill in original only and as I have paid the amount through credit card, I need to submit it immediately because if the reimbursement from my employer is delayed , I may have to pay interest on the whole amount. He then told me to bring the photocopy of the bill and also committed to provide a better gift than the original offer of the company which is included in the cost of the TV. Later on I came to know that LG company offered some other gifts including scratch card against the purchase of same product on or before diwali. Several times I have contacted him and he said that the gift is not available still now and on 21-11-2011 he said that he can provide the wrist watch provided the original cash memo is submitted only. I contacted the person who appeared to be the manager of the shop and he when listened what I have already narrated above then told me to bring the photocopy of the bill to collect the wrist watch. on 24-11-2011 when I went with the photocopy of the bill then a team of people including the salesman Nijam and the manager refused to provide the wrist watch without the original cash memo which I do not know how it is related with the offer included with a sale which they cannot provide in time and expect their customer to hold the original bill for an indefinite period. This is absolutely ridiculous and against the right of the customer to get the product for which he has paid in full.
Please take up the issue with Great Eastern Trading Co and see that company never deprive their customers this way again.
