Please be very careful of using ICICI Money to India money transfer, Your money can be put on HOLD and you will have tough time getting the transaction through.
On the 28th Oct 11 I sent S$4xxx to India and assumed the transaction will go through and went for a trip to Hong Kong. When I cam back on 2nd Nov and looked at the tracking it shows that the money has been received (that means money has been received by ICICI but not been transferred recipients Bank) . I called the bank and they tell me the money is put on hold
On the 5th Nov somebody called up and asks for the clarifications for transfer.... and tells the money will be transferred by 7th Nov.
- But nobody from the bank called me to inform about the held money, while my folks in India have to hear mouthfull from those they owe money
- When I call the help desk, they will always say: "Please give me the tracking number", "we are sorry", "We will call you back" and do nothing about it and nobody calls back!
- They don't even have a system to track the issue when the tracking number is provided, I have to explain the issue to each and every help desk person.
All the while I am calling them, but the help-desk sings the same song. When I called on 9th Nov they say nobody has called to get the clarifications somebody will be calling later!!!
- Again no confirmation mail or call
- NO money has been transferred until 9th Nov
- They also don't allow me to talk to the manager!!
Now it is the same cycle again, It makes me wonder if the money has been transferred for some other reason.
My advice to the rest of the people using money transfer. Please use SBI, HDFC or any other banks. DONOT USE ICICI, The help desk team is stupid, the managers are arrogant, they don't have a system to track your case.
