I have a problem in opening a B2 account in ICICI Bank. I'm working in Bangalore and my address proofs are in my permanent home address, where B2 is not accepting the same. Thus I sent an email to their customer care and they told that it is possible to open a B2 account with my temporary proof (company appointment letter) I'm pasting the entire conversation here. I'm putting stars (*) wherever my mobile no and other personal details are present in the entire conversation for privacy. Don't mind.

2.for the temporary purpose you can update your alternative number, when your account will be activated we will update it from our side.

I have a query regarding B2 account offered by you. I'm hailing from Karaikal, a town in the U.T. of Pondicherry and recently employed at Bangalore. I would like to apply for a B2 branchfree account but I'm unable to apply due to the following reasons.
1)All my id proofs are in my permanent address whereas B2 is asking for local address proof, which is not possible for me as I've been recruited recently. Except appointment letter from the company, I don't have any other local proofs.
2) The site is asking for mobile number where I'm unable to key-in my local number since it is accepting only mobile numbers starts with 9 whereas mine is starting from 8. Is it OK if I give my Karaikal number?
3) I'm ready to provide my Voter's ID Card, Driving License as ID proofs, but I want to know whether it will be accepted by B2 and moreover I'm staying in a rented room (Paying Guest) so is it OK if I give my office address as local communication address?
Please suggest a suitable solution as soon as possible.
P.S.: I'm giving my official email address & phone no. in the contact details. My personal email address is *********** and my local mobile no. is **********.

Even after a week, no executive came to collect the documents. Moreover, I'm not able to reply for the above from my email. Thus I sent a mail again through their website. Here's the reply.

This is a query regarding B2 Account. Earlier I've received a reply mail from Mr. Manish and the reference number is ICICICARE=042-366-168.
I successfully registered for a B2 account but I didn't received any calls from ICICI regarding the proof. I hope that they will call before this weekend. Or do I have to go to some local branch for giving the proofs? If that's the case, then I may not be able to go in the morning as I'll be in my office and I can go only in the evening.
P.S.: One glitch though. I'm unable to key-in my official email address while applying B2 as it's a long id. So, I entered my personal email address. I hope that it won't affect for opening the B2 account.

After these conversations and my endless calls to Mr. Shivaji Rao, an executive came. He told that it is not possible to open with the documents as they require a local address proof. Thus, I showed the above mails to him and asked whether it is possible to open B2 or not. He then consulted with his branch manager and they confirmed that I cannot open. So he went back. Before going, he suggested me to open either a salary account or regular savings account with ICICI so that I can open B2 later (i.e. after three months) which I don't want to do because already my company opened a salary account for me in some other bank. Moreover, I wanted to open B2 because of it's branch-free nature and the other features.
Now, after all these incidents, I got a call from ICICI care asking why I didn't opened the account (May be the call is from some Head Office, I guess) Then I explained everything but they replied that I can open the B2 account. Since I was outstation at that time, I asked them to contact me after a week. But they never called me till now.

Update:
Received a call from ICICI Care, Mr. Sri Venkateshwara on 23rd Sept 2011. We had a brief chat about the problems and he assured that the account will be opened after the submission of required proofs.But the glitch is I may not be able to produce a temporary address proof other than appointment letter. I already replied him about the same and waiting for his reversal. I hope to get a positive reply. Otherwise I may have to forgo the process of opening a B2 account.
