Sorry for your loss. I am from USA and I lost around 1 lack 20 thousand last year Janurary. and I try to file police case, I got the same reply like yours and I filed a case with RBI. But again useless. My suggestion don't listen or wait for anyone, just go and do your steps for filing a case in consumer court. I am not sure about the process for file a case with counsuer court.

If you do any other stpes all are time eating and you wont get any results.
