I wanted to make fund transfer to one of my friend Mr Sajith CS with ICICI a/c no: 025701500421. Mistakably I registered wrong account (no: 027501500421) in his name and transferred Rs 20,000/ on 14.08.2009. I could realize the mistake 4 days later i.e. on 18.08.2009 and immediately contacted 24-hour customer care services of ICICI bank. To add/register payee in ICICI online banking system, it only asks for A/C number & payee nick name .There is no cross verification of A/C holder name, so people generally commit such mistakes. This is deficiency in their system & service as well.
As per the advice of customer care I contacted ICICI Branch Manager, Bharuch and was aghast to know his denial to accept my written complaint. However customer care service intervention on my request could make him to accept my complaint regarding the said transaction.
Sir, it is surprising that an ICICI branch has not bothered to look into the customer complaint even after 8 months of the incident. Many phone calls and personal enquiries have not been able to elicit any response from Bharuch branch (0178) except the verbal “we are processing and will let you know”. I contacted the cluster manager but all is vein, what the cluster manager told me is that you have to contact head customer care.
On 17.03.2010, I also register a level2 complain to the head customer care but the answer is same that I have to contact base branch even though the base branch has not made so far even a phone call from their side.
Please advise what should I do to get money back ?
