i was holding us 64 certificates and in 2003 i had given it for surrender. i left for native after that and somehow it skipped my mind. recently when i checked the original certificates were still with me. On 4 may i apprached UTI office in belapur where i was told that the policy has been settled and a payment of 54000 has been made via cheque issued on june 2003. I showed them passbook entries of all my accounts and it didnt show any entry of the above mentioned amount or the cheque . i deposited the xxeroc copy of my passbooks and certificates on 4 may 2010 and was told i will be given the details of cheque clearance to which account ( so called paid copy). ever since then i am told i will be given the details which has not been delivered a month back i was told to resubmit all documents which i did without much help. i am yet to get a reply. I am really considering legal opinion as i am a senior citizen and it becomes difficult to maintail follow up
