In the above municipality the officials are corrupted at all levels. They initially ask us to pay 1000 for the water connection and when we get the bill for water connection we need to pay as high as 4500 (for buying 20 ft of 2.5 mm pipe and a few joints) for bringing the water connection till the entrance compound wall. Moreover we need to pay tips to the guys who digs the road to lay the pipe and refills it. What they have actually done is dug the road less than 1 ft. and didn't remove the rocks under neath and covered it with big stones on the top of the pipe with less sand.

I have paid the above amount and got the water connection on 13th April. On 20th April the pipe which was laid beneath the road got broken and the water was flowing on the road for two days and upon various follow up calls to the concerned person on 22nd April they came demanding money for finishing the task of setting it right which is not my fault.

Question # 1: Do the municipality require such a high cost (Rs.4500) for the 20 ft pipe and a few L joints and 2 men to complete the work in a shabby way. If I was given the freedom I would have got this done at half the price and that too digging at a good level and putting the sand and closing it in such a way that it doesn't break even if a loaded truck passes on the road.

Question # 2: Doesn't municipality pay these workers who comes to rectify the fault and if yes why they have this attitude of asking money from us in a very rude manner (that too from the women at home)

Is there any better way they can operate and get benefited from rather than punishing us for their careless attitude and poor performance.

Really bugged up interacting with these labor class people whom I respect a lot.

Shoot a letter under RTI ACT asking the same clarification with due enclosure of money as prescribed by the MK estate

Dear sir/madam,
we live in ram nagar south, madipakkam. There is no water supply from corporation for almost everyone living in ram nagar south, 12th main road. 3 years ago i.e 2008-2009, we paid all the formalities for water connection such as municipality pipe line, digging, etc,. But still we didn't get a single drop of water. Even after repeatedly complaining to them and even talking to their superiors, there has no action taken thus forcing us to take metro water from lorry tanks for Rs.750 for every 5 days. Not only us, but also our neighbors are facing the same problem and taking metro water which is a lot of expense and done the same procedure as us.
Moreover, if we ask the laborer to do something about the situation, they say that it wont benefit them and ask us to pay them more money.

I hope the concerned authority will take action to provide water for this area even though we pay water tax every year without fail. And please do something about the attitudes of the laborers.
