Subject: airtel hooliganism- disconnecting my prepaid mobile - constant faulty
connection - harassment on complaining
I have an airtel landline/dsl since 2005 but I have been having constant
disturbance on my line. As these were not rectified, I bought an airtel sim
card and gave as my verification details - a copy of my passport, my driving
licence and airtel landline number. I also put an additional recharge of Rs
500. (mobile no 9910372318) packed Nov 2011 - activated on 20.12.2011.
Further, I got a verification call in which I verified all the details. A few
days later, I found my number blocked and I was asked per mobile to verify my
account, I did so but it was not actiivated. I called again and the lady
started misbehaving and started asking me my 'marital details'. This is a sheer
breech of privacy. Finally I got someone on the line who activated my calls.
Yesterday suddenly my sim was blocked saying that it could not be verified.
This is all the more absurd as I had earlier received a payment alertfrom
airtel regarding my landline/dsl though I had not registered my number.
Subsequently I called the customercare for mobiles but 3 times the phone was
put down on me.
As may be seen from my first complaint:
1. Telephonic verification was carried out several times. I gavethem all my details - including details of passport no etc and my landlinetelephone 011-41555702 which I have been using since 7 years.
Telephonic verification is to ascertain whether the person whohas applied for the mobile number is the same as the person whose papers aresubmitted. This is very much the case. Further you can see from the sim recordthat all the calls with Airtel verification were made from my house in which Ihave been living since almost 40 years. Further my landline has not only beenverified but your Airtel officials have visited my premises several times.
Therefore to say that my connection was cut due to televerification failure is ABSURD. Further you give no reason. This istantamount to Airtel committing a CRIMINAL ACT for despite all paperssubmitted, several verification calls, my mobile number was cut after almost amonth. In my complaints, I have mentioned this several times - includingspeaking to the nodal officer etc. From 11th Jan complaint
Finally I called up several other numbers and gotthe following 9818334865
(nodal officer Vikrant Pandey. I spoke to a Mr Vijay who said the problem would
be immediately rectified. He gave me a REF No: F-989873876 and said I should
dial 46081111. I called there and gave them the Ref. They said they could do
nothing and that I should call up yet another number 9818334865. There I spoke
to a Ms Nasim who said that the reason the verification had failed is that the
number was to be in the name of a Sunita devi. Therefore I shouldresubmit my
documents to the Relationship Centre and it would be immediately activated.
Again I went to submit my documents (from Jan 11complaint)
I went to the Centre and the man started misbehaving andwhen I asked him for his name, he refused to give it. Furthermore he threatenedme and told the others that they should make sure the problem was notrectified. He then said it was the fault of the dealer. I subsequently went tothe dealer who showed and gave me back the form that had been filled in whichclearly shows my name, my landline number and all my documents attested. Noreason had been given by airtel as to why the papers were returned. This ispure cheating and a SCAM.
In response to my complaint, I received a call saying that thematter would be resolved and the entire amount reimbursed directly into my AirtelAccount. This did not happen. Instead I got an email saying the number belongedto someone else.
When I replied to this, I was told that this number did notexist at all. After sending sms received from the above number, I now get thisreply which evidently has not addressed the main issues of my complaint but isintended to only harass further.
My complaint clearly says that my number has been cut offdespite full verification - despite being a landline customer - despite givingall the papers.
I may further tell you that I registered the mobile number withmy bank and tatasky. Whereas I have had no problem with the Tataskyverification - on the same day as I received your verification call. ThereforeI can only conclude that this has been done fraudulently by your company so asto confiscate my balance of close to Rs 500.
Further your company instead of trying to resolve this matterhas only harassed me further.
Thus causing stress - loss of professional work time.
Therefore I would request full compensation of the above
