Hi,

I am a hassled Vodafone customerand I have written the below mentioned
complaint to their Nodal & Appellete Authority as well, however I wish
to register this complaint in the consumer court.

I purchased a handset - BlackBery Bold on 22nd Feb '09 from their
store at Ansal Plaza and it started mal functioning within a week's
time. Its been more then a week since we approached them & instead of
replacing the handset which is fault they are giving us a run around.
I have all my paperwork including details of the people I spoke to &
reference number to my complaints as well. I want strict action to be
taken up against such cheats & frauds.

Hi Nidhi/Sanjay,

Today I'm writing this email to both of you to appraise you of the
quality of service that you provide to your customer who are very
unfortunate to have subscribed to your esteemed services. Let me cut
the chase & come to the point. I purchased the BlackBerry Bold from
your Vodafone store in Ansals Plaza, New Delhi on 22nd Feb 2009
(Instrument no. 33), that was the biggest mistake I made this year
is to trust & buy such an expensive piece of equipment from your
esteemed company.
Well to my utter delight within less then a week on using the
handset I noticed a white line on the top left had corner of the
screen , which is primarily due to the fact that the pixels on the
screen are not firing properly. So as a normal human being having
felt cheated by your esteemed organization on the faulty handset
sold to me I approached your store at Ansals Plaza on 7th Mar '09.
There we met Mr. Ishaan &another gentlemen who handles the
BlackBerry services. They both agreed that the phone had an issue &
needed to be fixed. I was appalled at Mr. Ishaan 's response to my
situation as he merely said there is nothing much I can do about
this , you need to give us your handset & we'll let you know in 18
days time whether this issue will be fixed or the handset would be
replaced. Now I'm sure during the course of these 18 days I'm
expected to carry my SIM card in my pocket ( WOW amazing service - I
must applaud you for the excellent customer handling technique).
Anyways after a lot of use of lung power the final solution that was
offered by Mr. Ishaan was that he would do the needful and arrange
for a replacement for this handset & would call me to let me know on
the status & that I would come and collect the replacement handset
from that very store on 12th Mar '09.
Quite obvious to the Keep Your Customer Informed policy of your
esteemed company I did not recieve a call regarding the handset on
the 12th Mar '09, hence I thought maybe your so busy serving your
other millions of customers that you might have overlooked one
customer , who happened to by the most expensive (Rs.34990)
instrument from you. But to prove my expectations no one answered
the calls, since I was provided Mr. Ishaan 's direct number
( 9999228888) I kept trying that number and of course I didnt expect
a call back so I didnt receive one either.

Anyways today I visited your Ansal Plaza store yet again and I met
Mr. Papkesh Dogra & asked for Mr.Ishaan since I had no time to
explain the entire story to another person, however I was told that
Mr. Ishaan was on leave for the entire week. So we showed the
handset to Mr. Papkesh & narrated the entire story & asked him to
provide us the replacement handset without any further delay,
however the famous Vodafone Store Customer Service team had a
different surprise in store for us. Well there was no record of your
conversation & neither was Mr. Ishaan was traceable to confirm any
details as to why he had failed to make a note of this visit in the
records. So now we have been provided a reference number 1606783006
for our issue & have been given another timeline of 18th March '09
to get the replacement handset. I dont think I can ever trust
anybody at Vodafone anymore since you people are in the business of
tricking people & selling them faulty handsets , had I picked up
this handset at any other local shop my handset would have been
replaced without even having to go through the hassles I have been
through. But I guess I'm paying the price of being a loyal Vodafone
customer since the last 6 years.

So as a last ditch effort I thought I should approach both of you
since you are nodal & appellete authority with Vodafone Delhi &
maybe you would be able to fix this problem. And by the way when I
asked for your email id's to sent you this complaint in writing I
was told that this information cannot be shared , so I located this
on your bill. I had also asked for the name & email address of the
president/CEO for your company & they did not provide me with this
detail either( an trust me I am not amazed at the level of
competency of your folks at this particular Vodafone store).

I'm sure your very busy answering to your other customers , however
I would really appreciate a revert on my above issue. So far I'm
just taking this matter up with you incase I do not get the
redressal of this issue I will be forced to register a complaint
with TRAI & consumer courts as well.
