    Default Standard Chartered Bank credit card

    Sir,


    Further I have attached summary of credit card statement of Standard Chartered Bank
    from
    10.01.2005 to 10.08.2006 showing from NIL balance to the date of statement received.

    I was holding a credit card(***********232630 & *********03128) of Standard
    Chartered Bank
    till Aug'06.The card was offered to me free of Membership,Annual & Joining fees.
    However in 10.01.2005
    statement ,they charged me Annual charge of Rs. 1200/-. On 20.01.2005, I spoke to
    their customer
    care office regarding the charges which i was not liable to pay. They assured &
    confirmed me the charges
    would be reversed and the same would reflect in the next statement. The reversal was
    not done and
    interest and Service Tax was charged also. On 14.02.2005 when I received next
    statement dt. 10.02.2005,
    again I spoke to their Customer care office for reversal which they again confirmed
    of reversing. However in
    the next statement it was not also done. Later they kept going on charging interest
    ,Late fee and ST.
    On 10.01.06 they again charged annual charges. I have written 2 letters(20.06.2006 &
    Oct'06) to their
    Banglore office, However there is no feed back from their end till date on the same.

    In this statement you will find I have made all payments in time for use of credit
    card. Whatever purchases
    I had made on this card, all amounts was paid before the due date. Standard Chartered
    Bank for promotion have originally proposed that no membership/Annual fee will be
    charged, but have
    charged in the statement. You can see from the statement that Add-On card fee has
    been reversed but
    my annual fee has not been reversed though time to time they have promised to
    reverse. The arrears
    shown are false with accumulated late fee and interest thereon which is not payable
    by me. Such a big
    institution's behaviour is not appreciable at all and again putting my name in
    defaulters list for which
    I am not liable. The institution representative talks on the telephone and agrees to
    reverse but have
    failed to do so.

    My letters and request are not considered at all. So for no fault of mine why I
    should be penalised. For
    your verification I can show the original statements as referred and request you to
    consider the same.

    Please see the demand are shown on list are false and damage to my reputation is
    caused. I expect a justice
    from your end.

    Dear Jay Raman,

    My A/C Number 54410210091. With the name
    Abdus Salam gave a Request for duplicate statement through online
    Banking dated from Nov 08 To Oct 09 for which I have been charged amount
    rs 500. I don't know why 500 rs had been charged for which neither it
    was informed to me on your website. And when I call your customer care
    people says that no never it can be refunded.

    Sir, Kindly see I am a very low value salaried
    person .Amount 500 rs is very big amount for me.

    Request for Revert ASAP.

    Hi,

    I have standard chartered bank credit card since last 14 years. My card no. ************6495.
    From last 2 to 3 years your bank service is very bad.
    I have made online credit card payment Rs. 20000/- from my other bank account on 12/5/2011 evening 5.00p.m.
    Today when i call at customer care centre they have told me that online payment credit in your card after 48 hours, that means your bank service is too slow other than ICICI bank and any other nationalized bank. Your customer care team also not respond properly to customer and not help to resolve the problem.

    Default My credit card not working in USA and I need help to re-activcate it

    My name is Poonam Jaydeep Kale travelling in U.S.A currently
    I own a Titanium credit card and its not working.
    My card number is 5546232907167174
    Currently Im in USA and I need to know the toll free (1-800) number I can call on or kindly let me know the possible reasons via email.
    Request you to revert back ASAP.

    Alternatively please let me know Toll free 1-800 number that I can call on.
    Would appreciate your urgent help here.

    Default Credit Card company Standard Chartered - harassment after 8 yearss of hibernations

    I stopped using my credit card 8 years back and had settled the last amount. SC kept charging me annual charges despite me telling them clearly that I do NOT want to continue. My last settlement was in 2005 and I haven't swiped the card a SINGLE time since then. Today after EIGHT years the collection lady calls me and tells me 26000 INR is due from me to them. I have not been using the card and despite several attempts to close it - SC refused to close it and never sent me any closure letter.

    The lady on the phone says if I don't have a closure letter I have to pay this amount. What for should I pay??? There is no usage and I refuse to pay this huge interest and huge amount of annual fee you have charged me over 8 years. This is pure cheating! She harassed me on the phone and called me a LIAR! She said I am hiding behind the bushes. She said I am black listed from all financial transactions. I alreay own an AMEX card & an HDFC card and you can check all my financial transactions on the same. For a bank that doesnt know how to listen to a customer's request to close and has the guts to call them Liars after 8 years - what kind of bank are you? If I used teh card - you have every right to charge. You cannot sleep for 8 yrs and suddenly make such a call and ask for 26K.

    I am a Director in an American company based in India and your collection officer said these things to me for 26K that I have not used a single rupee of services from your so called respectable bank. I got totally upset with this call and now I really do NOT want to pay this amount.

    You guys are such cheats!! I want to file a complaint for this mental torture your officer did to me on the call for 30 minutes! Instead of you asking me for money back I should sue you for dis-respecting me through some collection officers who do not know how to communicate. She refused to listen to what I was saying.

    For the last time I ask you again to please close my account.

    Default Standard Chartered Bank Credit Card - Big Fraud

    Hi All,

    This is Saurav. I would like to tell you my experience about Standard Chartered Bank credit card. First of all who ever is thinking to take Stan C bank credit card, never take their cards which have some annual fee associated, always prefer without any fee cards. Because they charge a lot in the name of annual fee and that too is not genuine, include all sort of un applicable taxes. Specially do not take "Manhattan Credit Card".

    So let me come to my case. I got a call from one of Stan C Bank executive for credit card, so told him to visit my office and then we will discuss. So after he visited my office I decided to take one credit card and submitted all necessary documents. Then after few days my card has been approved and received the same. When I opened the I saw that the credit limit was only 20000, but the executive promised me that it would be at least 60000, while we were discussing before taking the card. So I immediately called them and asked about it, they told me, they will increase my credit limit within 2 months but till now even after 4 months it is not done.

    Another thing is that they have a trap in the form of a service called "Advantage card enhancement pack" consisting of some card insurance, travel vouchers and medical treatment vouchers. After I received my card I got a call from their customer care executive about this pack. Initially I was not interested to take this pack but as the executive was keep on insisting me later I decided to take it. They told me this pack has a charge of Rs 4000 annually and i have to pay it by monthly installment which is around Rs 340 per month. They also told me that if I plan to cancel the pack within 2 month, 75% of amount will be refundable and similarly for 4 month, 6 month, 50% and 25% amount is refundable. So after I received the pack I felt that it is not good and use less for me. Then after 1 month I called them up and told them to cancel my pack. Then I got a shock, they told me the refund of amount option is not valid for this pack and will be valid only someone complete 1 year duration and then renew this pack. This is a clear case of cheating customers. So if I cancel the pack they will deduct Rs 4000 from my card credit limit and in the next statement I have to pay full Rs 4000 plus some tax. From then I am continuously telling them that I do not need this pack and to cancel the pack as well the card. Its been more than 4 months nothing has been implemented from their side and they keep on sending statements every month by including every possible unnecessary charges. But I paid all bills and till now in 4 months I have paid more than Rs 4000 in the name of bill without using the card for any other extra transaction other than this pack.

    In the last month they told me that they will close my card and for that I have to pay the bill of that month only and after that all will be done. But when I received the statement I saw that it is close to Rs 3000. So if I pay this amount, I will end up paying close to Rs 7000, without using this card for any transaction other than this pack. Regarding this I wrote several emails to customer care and also to the principal nodal officer, but no positive response from them.

    So just like to tell every one think carefully before you take Stan C bank credit card and do not fall under their trap. This is one of the most cheat bank I have ever seen.
