Dear All,

I need your valued options and advice to solve a small issue. Before one year i have
given a cheque for settlling one of my payments(mobile phone. The bill amount is
Rs.3500). The cheque belongs to my previous company and the company got windedup.So,
now am not in a position to get that cheque details from my company. Now the
concerned company has send me a legal notice stating that the cheque has bounced and
they are taking it legally and i need to settle the payment. I went there and asked
my cheque details and asked them to show me the cheque. They didn't show me. They
gave me some details like the bank name and cheque number. BUt me or my previous
company doesn't have an account with the said bank. But , since they thretned me of
taking legal action, i have done the payment and made them give in writing that they
will give that cheque back. But now they are not showing any response. When i asked
about the cheque, they are telling that it will take time.

I need your sugessions so as to know whether i can file a case aganist them. I dont
know whether they even have that cheque or not. Please help me..
