    Post Complain against Airtel for extra bill after deactivation of datacard

    I bought a Airtel Data Card no.9810226386 in Jan 2010 and a Data Card 599 Plan was activated on it. I am staying in Kalkaji and was not able to use it due to poor connectivity and excruciatingly slow speed.

    On 16th March I contacted Airtel Customer Care to deactivate the data card and the airtel executive informed that concern has been noted and will do the needful. For next 15 day I got frequent calls from Airtel people enquiring the cause to deactivate my data card and everytime I reiterated to deactive the datacard without further delay as I did not want to pay any more bills without using the datacard.

    My billing cycle was 23rd of a month -22nd of next month. I received bill for the period 23rd feb. – 22nd March and paid that bill. On 30th March I received another letter from Airtel stating that my account was closed and I have to make a full and final payment of Rs.634 within next seven days. I paid Rs.635 on 2nd April and was assured that I have completed all the formalities and now this matter is closed.



    On 28th I received another bill amounting to Rs. 468 for the period 23rd March – 22nd April. and they didnt stop here another bill was sent showing a total outstanding of Rs.578 and still getting communication from Airtel to pay the requisite amount.



    I have letter from Airtel for making a full and final payment and receipt of the payment made.



    Kindly advise me how to go ahead in this matter as I want to close this matter or what are the other options available for me





    This matter was communicated to Airtel people and following is the copy of that communication:

    Your number has been temporarily deactivated on 28/04/2010 as per your request and permanently disconnected with effect from 29/05/2010. The bill charges will be calculated only up to the temporary deactivation date 28/04/2010.



    Hence, there is an outstanding amount of Rs.578.37/- till the date 28/04/2010 which remains unpaid in your account and we request you to clear the same at the earliest to avoid payment reminders.

    Dear Sathish Gopalakrishnan,

    Reference to your appended mail I could not understand the term temporary and

    permanent, it was conveyed to Airtel people to disconnect the above mentiond

    no. with immediate effect on 21st April and you have admitted the same in your

    appended mail and if it was at your discretion then it could have been taken to

    2011 or 2012.

    I am not liable to pay the said amount as it is for the period after you have

    confirmed via your letter dated 30th March 2010 that it was disconnected

    following a request from my side.

    Attached is the copy of the written communication from Airtel dated 30th March

    2010 in which they have told to pay Rs. 634 as a full and final payment as

    the account for the above said datacard has been closed.

    A payment of Rs. 635 was made on 2nd April 2010. A copy of the payment

    receipt has already been sent to you via earlier mail dated 3rd June 2010 and

    also attached herewith for your ready reference.

    Hope I have provided you with all the details and will appreciate if no further

    reminders are sent from your side regarding this matter.

    Reference to our telecon, As I informed that I had a datacard with above

    mentioned no.

    Following my request to deactivate the datacard I received a letter dated 30th

    March 2010 from airtel to make a payment of Rs. 634 for the full and final

    closure. Attached is the copy of that letter.

    I made a payment of Rs. 635 at Mobile Zone, A-14, Alaknanda Shopping Complex

    where I used to deposit the earlier payments on 2nd April 2010. Attached is the

    receipt of that payment.

    After clearing all the dues as mentioned in that letter I am getting bills from

    Airtel for the same no. which has been cosed.

    Please update your records so that as I dont get any further bills.
