Complaint against Airtel Prepaid Sir
My name is Mathew George an airtel customer within the NCR circle with the number 9958602775. On the days preceding 15 - 5 - 2012 i had balance of approx. Rs 20 which had been barred from using to make any outgoing calls because i have subscribed to the rs 62 sms plan which recharges automatically deducting the amount from my balance. I tried to unsubscribe using the syntax provided but the operating command failed. My attempts to check my balance also failed using *123#. I thought the amount was small and decided to recharge my phone for full talk time rs 444 on 15th May. i got a confirmation of the recharge followed by the deduction of the SMS plan leaving me rs 401 ( 40 + 20 from previous balance ). Fast forward to 3 days between which i used the phone sparingly, I made a call on 18th, to my horror i was told that i did not have enough balance. I checked balance which was shocking rs 16 and even then i could not make a call.
I decided to call customer care, where in after negotiating the very disorganized IVR through 121 (*121# the direct line failed) i spoke to 4 customer servicers who all spoke ONLY HINDI. My repeated requests to patch to their supervisor who they said could speak to me in English failed. I kept at it waiting 10 minutes at times before the phone got cut on several occasions. Finally i spoke to them in my rudimentary hindi, being from Kerala studying in Delhi asking how such a massive amount had been deducted. They failed to provide any satisfactory answer, infact they kept saying they are checking (all in hindi) then one of them (3rd attempt) replied in feebly in broken English saying that the balance had been reduced as "some sites were charged one time fee of rs 99" in very vague manner. I knew of no such charges and was shocked as the customer service rep defended his position when i claimed that there was no such charges mentioned in the contract. I decided it was pointless and decided to speak to the English speaking supervisor (I dont know why i am alloted Hindi executives when i have chosen Eng in IVR setting in the first place). I wait for another to the 3 minutes and the call gets cut while i kept the phone is speaker phone ensuring it has range and does not get cut. (i knew they were lying now as they claimed it was being cut from my end)
Then after one more failed attempt i left to Hudson Line, Airtel relationship centre where i spoke to the man at the counter explaining my plight. (i visit this shop often as i pay my airtel wifi bill here). Here the man replied that it must be my internet charges, i replied i do not use it as i have their Wifi which what i use for internet. Later he made a baffling excuse saying because i have Windows Phone 7 (HTC Mozart) i must be getting charged for internet more. I could not believe he was being so off the cuff with random charges. Plus he said he could not help has the system at the shop had been down. (The system at the shop has been down for over a month now has i could not pay my wifi bills there and had to got to Connaught place to make the payment). This callous attitude was shown by their reps in the shop over the phone who also dismissed the charges as my internet usage charges.
Hence not only do they not pursue to solve the problem but actively stall your attempt at redressal with lies or just hang up. I would love to hear from any airtel rep and would appreciate any help.

Postpaid to prepaid problem Hello Sir,
My name is Gulzar Hasan and I basically from Mumbai but I'm currently working in Pune. I have Airtel telecom service for my mobile 9004688848 since 2006 and it is from
Mumbai circle.
I had requested to change postpaid to prepaid. In this regard I went to Chakal Airtel relationship center, Mumbai (ARC Code: 210009) on
Monday 30-April 2012 and paid all my pending dues, also submitted the request form along with 1. Address proof (My 4 wheeler driving license)
2. Photo ID proof (PAN card xerox) 3. Passport size photo (color passport size photo)
The customer executive told that your connection will be shutdown for 48 hour and
after that you need to e-recharge of 45 INR through mobile and call 123 for activation and then check your balance by *123#
After 2 hours my incoming and outgoing service was disconnected. I have waited for 48 hours and have followed the above procedure but the service was still not activated. Thus I started calling to airtel customer care number from my landline, they given two other number, first one is postpaid customer care and other is prepaid customer care. When I'm calling to postpaid customer care number they said your number is disconnected from our side, now you need to follow up with prepaid customer care persons. When I calling to prepaid customer care executive they said we haven't receivce any request to activate the number. After calling many time they said you need to visit again to Airtel relationship center and submit the all documents again.
I also written email to 121@in.airtel.com and explained my scenario and I got the same reply that we haven't received any document from your side.
I have managed to submit the documents again on 21-05-2012 in Chakala ARC, Mumbai (ARC Code: 210009).
1. Address proof (My 4 wheeler driving license)
2. Photo ID proof (PAN card xerox)
3. Passport size photo (color passport size photo)
When I reached there they said our server system is down, please resubmit the document from our side and we will process and call you in your alternate number i.e.
8390114555. However I still didn't get any call from any Airtel customer executive and my incoming service is not yet activated on my mobile 9004688848.
My mobile connection is shutdown for last 24 days and I totally frustrated, I'm begging you please do something for me.

Six month validity recharge stopped working after a week Hi,
My name is Chetan, an airtel customer in Maharashtra circle, currently working in Mumbai. Earlier all the STD (mobile/land line) calls used to charge me @ 1.2 ps/sec. However, few days before last week, I noticed that it had started to charge me around 3 ps/sec. I discussed the issue (on 18th May 2012) with one of the retailer and he suggested me to do a recharge for lower call rates. I asked the retailer to do the recharge but that recharge was not getting successful. Then I decided to call the airtel customer care service. I explained the guy there - the issue of sudden increase in the call rates and recharge failure. That guy told me to do the recharge of Rs. 32 from Maharashtra circle only. It cannot be recharged from any other circle. I also inquired if the recharge is available online ...to which he responded negatively.
Somehow I managed to get the recharge done from Maharashtra circle (on 19th May 2012) and I felt lucky when call rates again resumed to 1.2 ps/sec (STD). These call rates supposed to remain applicable for next six months but I got a shock when I noticed after few days (on 26th May 2012) that calls were charging @ around Rs. 2/min. I called the customer care service immediately. When I explained the entire scenario, the guy there told me that Rs. 32 recharge scheme has been stopped 3 months back and is no more valid. I asked them 2 simple question -
1. How come person at customer care it self suggested me to go for Rs 32 recharge ...if it is no more valid?
2. If the recharge was not valid - why it went successful? Why call rates reduced for few days after recharge?
People @ customer care ( thoroughly careless service ) kept transferring the call saying their senior officer can answer the queries. However, no one could answered my queries ...just kept giving me stupid excuses ...like it might have happened by mistake etc. and at the end just registered a complaint (CWRCH - 30526635724).
It has happened with me earlier as well when all of sudden starts to apply some extra charges, subscribe me to some unwanted service. But after the above mentioned incident the image of airtel in mind is of a cheater company.
I would urge the officials at airtel to address to the issue responsibly.

Connection change from post paid to prepaid Dear Sir,
My self anil kumar yadav working with JSL Lifestyle Limited, we had 51 nos approx airtel postpaid connection (corporate connection) due to low connectivity of network & high call rates we decided to switchover airtel to vodafone, we called the airtel representative and requested him to convert all numbers for prepaid, he said he need one id proof and one photo separately of every individual, after few days we collected 25 nos id and photos of employees and submitted to the airtel representative along with company letter head and requested him to convert 25 sim in prepaid and else disconnect but process (airtel to vodafone) will start after final confirmation from our side. but on 25th may suddenly airtel stopped our few employees service and on 26th may stopped all employees service. but still the 25 nos approx sim is not converted in prepaid.
here we are requesting you, pls convert our 25 nos approx sim in prepaid for which we had submitted the documents and other you can disconnect.

airtel balance deduction Dear sir,
I am indranil dutta stating you that my mobile no. is 9674534304. My balance rs.97.22. But few minutes ago i have deducted 30rs for activating Big boss 5. But let me tell you that I have not activated Big Boss 5. A push message received with a sms that 30rs. has been deducted. I have called to 198 but they have cut my phone. I have also requested to stop that service for Big boss 5.
please return my balance to my account.

i am a airtel postpaid user i was purchased a new samsung omnia mobile i was shifted my postpaid sim card into samsung omnia after two days i got a call from airtel your bill is now 1800 your credit limit is 1000 you have to pay 1000 rs with in two days at the time i am in roaming i am unable to communicate customer care regarding this bcz i am in roaming and i was surprised before may12th my un billed amount near 700 with in two days how is possiable to reach 1800rs with out doing huge calls when i reach delhi i called and en query to the customer care they are saying your mobile has gprs connection due to the usage your amount of bill is 2500rs this month i just ask them pls stop this bloody service and request them it happened with out my interaction pls reduce my bill they said no sir you used the service so you have to pay i am a soft ware engineer i have wireless network in office and home i can use that and i am not a fool to use this gprs plan i know airtel providing 3g plan500rs i can activate if i want ..finaly i conclude that omnia got updates back ground even though the usage of the data around 1.5gb with in 3days this is surprised me the customer care guys providing solution this is not your mistake so we reduce 500rs from your bill but remaining 2000rs you have to pay interesting point my usage for calls in that amount 600rs plz airtel Reduce total 1500rs what you charge from me for gprs

airtel complaint Hi i am Mohit juneja customer of airtel prepaid no- 9876666415. actually 2 days before my whole balance vanished from my sim automatically and amount was around 127 rs. next morning i complaint to customer care no. 121 ( ref-no. 018427) . customer care executive entered my complaint and promised me his manager gonna call me with in two hours but no one call me back . than again i call them again and they replied back that i have been cahrged for net usage or data usage at around 11.30 pm.. but it is totally impossible because i ws sleeping at that time even my data network ws off and phone ws locked. i told them same story as well . or if even i want to use net i know we have to activate net plan which are of 98 rupees for a month and 22 rupees for a weak.. i used them before as well. i requested them please inquire dat what the hell is going on may be its due to technical problem or smthing else. i asked them to refund my money. a girl team leader of care name anushka .. she said they will investigate it and solve this problem. and will call me back before 11.30 am . Again no one replied back i called them at 3.00 o clock they said i have been charged for internet data usage. i know i have not used any data from sim from last 1 month. airtel,s bad services really pissed me off. please i request to airtel head office investigate it properly and refund my money back.
