    Thumbs down Big Thumbs down to AIRTEL Postpaid Services

    Dear Consumer Court,

    I am a Airtel Postpaid customer from the past 10 days. I am lodging this complaint as a result of severe inconvenience caused from the past two days. Airtel representatives have called me twice a day for one week to change to Postpaid service. And when the change is done, I was surprised to see the huge amount of unbilled amounts that gets increased every day. I understood that the unbilled amount doesn't consider the 1 GB GPRS free usage and the free calls available under the taken plan. So the unbilled amount what is shown should be treated as DUMMY figure.

    Now the most embarrassing part is since the unbilled amount has crossed the Maximum limit (which is set to Rs 1300 for me), My Airtel number is debarred from making any outgoing calls! This is never explained by the AIRTEL representatives who have requested me to convert to Postpaid. My unbilled amount as of today is seen around Rs 4000 (for a ten days period) where as actual bill will not be more than Rs 300 for sure. I have made in-numerous calls to Nodal officers and then applet officers only to get the same info that "The unbilled amount has crossed the Maximum limit and I have to clear the balance amount to get activated".

    What I don't understand is when it is very clear that the unbilled amount can go upto approximately Rs 15000 by using the free 1 GB GPRS, why not the maximum limit be set to that amount initially. And how can AIRTEL take this action against my number based on a DUMMY figure (Unbilled amount). Now the applet officers say a change in this maximum limit would take 4 days. It seems I need to wait for these four days or I should pay around Rs 3000 for continuing the Postpaid service. How ridiculous and disgusting!

    I request Consumer Court to take severe action on this and hammer the illogical rules that have been set which are troublesome to the Airtel postpaid customers.

    I have a 3G service from Airtel. I took the 12.5 GB free for Rs. 1250 plan. I was also totally shocked when after 2GB of usage after just 10 days I was asked to pay Rs. 10,000 as my unbilled had gone to Rs 12500. To add to it my phone was barred. The only reply I received for all my querries to Customer service was this is post paid policy and u have to pay. I made the payment and services resumed. But after another 10 days I have the same problem again. My phone is barred and they are again asking for 10, 00 more. My unbilled is Rs. 28000 when my data usage is just 9 GB. I even get regular sms saying ur data usage is 9 gb which is 70% of the total FREE usage. How ridiculous is this. I completely dont understand the calculation logic.

    Default Unbilled amount greater then credit limit

    Dear Concern,

    This is regards to unbillded amount of mobile no. 9892044070. As on date (03-06-12) it is showing Rs. 2660/-. I am surprise how my unbillded amount reached to 2660/- because my credit limit is only Rs. 1300/-

    Need clarification if my credit limit is Rs. 1300/- then how can my unbilled amount is reached above Rs. 2600/-

    Hi,

    this is again the same issue faced by many of us... I have used only 600MB of data n also activated the 98Rs bill plan but getting the unbilled usage is 8084Rs.
    If i give a call to CC they asked to wait untill the bill is get generated.

    Please give us the proper resolution

    Post Airtel Network is real Bad at my placei [Solapur] Maharashtra

    Hi Guys,
    It's Been Around Dozen complaints and requests for the network correction.
    Airtel network drops always in side houses.
    when i am talking about houses
    I am saying more than 5 different places within same city
    130 sidhdheshwar peth
    500 south sadar bazaar
    320 south sadar bazaar

    Had a 100s of calls with network team but the tickets are always closed by saying the appropriate setting is been done.
    Had a network check 3 times and asked to put a boooster by Network guys.
    Earlier it was around 30 airtel numbers which reduced to 15 or so after portability.

    Do something good. Apart from calling again and again saying "we have done the needful"

    Hi Sarat,

    Even i face the same problem. I took airtel connection in the month of September 2012.My bill has been generated for the month of November 2012 and I have to pay it before December 6th. The total billed amount is 1049, and i got a message like, your outgoing is barred as amount exceeded your account limit. How can they bar out-going calls, when there is still a grace period to clear my bill ?
