I have been using reliance phone for more than past 6 months. Every month, I pay my bills by due date. My preferred choice of payment is online.
Last month, on July 26th, I tried to make a payment due on July 27. In spite of spending three hours in reliance website and calling customer service at least 3 times and talking to them for hours, I was not able to make the payment. I told customer service that I would not pay any late charges out of that bill since the mistake is on their side.
In this month's bill, they have added the late payment charges. I made the payment a few days ago since I didn't want to end up trying to make a payment on 26th and fail making payment due to technical reasons.
Yesterday, I called customer service 2 times around 8 pm. The first call was attended by Prathima, a rude, discourteous, impolite total-unfit for being customer service agent. I asked for crediting back Rs 50, the late payment charges. I was brutally told 'No' besides getting free advice about other options and how I should pay at least a few days ago to avoid this situation.
I have gone through a lot of harassment and hope justice will prevail. Its not about Rs 50, but Reliance's attitude that they can make profit by late payment charges since the customers won't care about Rs 50. Think how many Rs 50s have gone into Anil Ambani's pocket. Its a shame we still allow him to do business in India. I hope justice will prevail.
