    Angry Complaint against MTNL DOLPHIN - MUMBAI

    Hello Everyone,

    My issue has been with the Network Service provided by my mobile operator MTNL - DOLPHIN MUMBAI. For your reference, below are some of my mails i had sent to various helpdesks of MTNL Mumbai. But still i have received any response. I had decided i will not pay my anymore outstanding bills but for sake of my honesty & being citizen of this country i decided to pay my bill. So i paid my bill only for month of June by cheque on 30-July-09. The reason i did not pay outstanding bill amount for May month was because i was informed by one of the Customer Service Executive of MTNL & cashier at MTNL's Shimpoli Telephone Exchange that "even if i pay atleast half of the outstanding bill, my outgoing service wouild get started". But still my service is not yet started. To verify about cheque realisation i had called up at my Bank's Phone Banking Services and it was confirmed by Phone Banking Officer that they have still not received any cheque for realisation from MTNL. When i went to MTNL's Shimpoli Telephone Exchange (where i had dropped the cheque), the above mentioned cashier informed me that they would not be aware of about my cheque since there is different department that takes care of collecting the cheques & depositing the same.

    On the other hand, even if my above issue gets resolved i don't think my Network issue is going to be resolved. I want to file complaint against MTNL - Mumbai for all the physical & mental stress i have been through for all the years since the time i applied for MTNL connection. I want MTNL Mumbai to compensate me TWICE the amount of the bills that i have paid till date along with interest at 10% & also apologise in writing for providing me bad network service.

    I am still facing the network issue. I had called up at MTNL helpdesk on 1503 at 7:00am on 30-July-09 and i was informed by one your customer service executive that this case has been closed. I want to ask you why the case was closed when my problem is still not being rectified? I was asked to raise another complaint and was provided with new docket number. This is certainly NOT GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE for a customer who has been loyal to MTNL by having its connection since past 4 years & paying all heavy usage bills on time. On 31st July 2009, i have again raised a complained (docket number - C090752651)

    I had not received my bill for the month of May - 2009 and i directly received the bill for June 2009 along with outstanding amount of May - 2009 in the month of July with due date 31-July-09. And worst thing happening to your loyal customer is that my Outgoing Calls service & SMS service were barred on 30-Jul-09 when the bill states that due date for paying my all outstanding bills was 31-July-09.

    Its real shame that MTNL does not value it's customer and has no concern in solving his issues. I can PROVE that MTNL Network received at my residence and at my work place is absolutely weak. My colleagues, friends have to try my number minimum of 5 to 6 times in order call me. Just for TEST at my residence i have tried many times calling on my mobile phone (kept besides my landline) through my MTNL landline and answer that i get to hear through MTNL's automated machine is "The Dolphin Customer you are tring to reach is out of coverage area, please try again later" and this makes situation more worst & frustrating.

    MTNL Dolphin does not provide a good network service and this would be proved if you take real 'Customer Satisfaction Survey' of all your MTNL Dolphin Customers. In India It is rightly said by many people a government service will always be government service - "SLOW, MORE SLOW, INEFFECIENT & INEFFECTIVE". Unless a poor customer does not touch your feet you don't move even an inch. This is major reason why today private companies in India have been able to succeed because they give value to customer by providing them prompt & effective service. With such laid back attitude MTNL would never be able to compete with Telecom Companies like Airtel, Vodafone, Reliance & other telecom players.

    MTNL Dolphin has left me with no choice but to approach Honourable Consumer Court, TRAI, DOT.

    Its been more than 4 years i have been MTNL Dolphin Customer, but i am sorry to say i have always faced Network Coverage problems. I always face lot of network fluctuation problems at my residence & i do not receive any network coverage at my workplace. I feel MTNL Dolphin Tariff plans are also designed to fool the customers. Whichever plan i chose i end up paying almost the same bill amount like my previous plans. I have been a very heavy usage user & have also paid my bills regularly but till now i have not received any satisfactory service from Dolphin network nor the Customer Service Executives on 1503 & 9869012345, have ever been able to solve my network issue. Being loyal customer i have never received any additional benefits like special discounts on my bill for being mtnl mumbai dolphin customer for a long time but MTNL Mumbai always expects me to pay my bills on time even though MTNL Mumbai Dolphin has never been able to resovled my network problems.

    My current work place is CRISIL LIMITED, Unit 201, A - Wing, Kensingtoz SEZ Bldg, Hiranandani Business Park, Powai. I have lot of network issue at my work place. My network is always fluctuating or at times there is no network coverage on floor premises of my organisation. So i expect MTNL to solve my problem or refund my bill payments that i have made towards MTNL Mumbai Dolphin till date.

    I have now decided to approach honourable Consumer Court against MTNL Mumbai for not providing me the network coverage nor customer satisfaction service even after me paying my heavy usage bills regularly. I don't trust MTNL network anymore & i don't think the MTNL officials can resolve my network issue ever.


    FYI: The number is registered in name of my father Mr. Bhimrao Khambe

    Dear Sir,

    My self Shilpa Amol Gore is holding the mobile no. 9869380980. I have activated 3G on my mobile almost 2.5 weeks back. After that my 3g activation one time charges were deducted from my account. But the service never started. After repeated follow up with your call centre I came to know that my 3g service access has been blocked at your end.

    Every time I call your complaint booking service they tell me that they are forwarding my request to BKC & service will start. But now its 15 days & still MTNL is not enabling my access to 3G.

    Can you please help me out

    On 02.03.2010 I Purchased a Simcard for 3G and the telephone number is 9757081486. I have been requesting with your customer care no.1503 for activation and configuration. However when ever I try to send an email during the free period i.e.15.03.2010 neither 3G is activated nor configuratilon is done. Hence I requested agailn and I was asked to mannually configure which I have already done.Despite this and the promise that within an hour I would receive confirmation I am yet to receive the SMS.Can you please help me.

    I have an IPhone manufactured in China claimed to be equivalent to Apple Iphone Model No. is 4124.

    Your swift response in this regard is awaited.

    Thumbs down Network problem at Vikhroli (w)

    Dear Sir,

    Since last 2 years i am complaining regarding No Network at my work place at Vikhroli (w) since there is no action taken by MTNL DOLPHIN after several times complain lodged with MTNL and always reply reveived that this is temperory problem and will be resolved shortly i am waiting since last 2 years to resolve it.

I have been a very heavy usage user & have also paid my bills regularly (from my bank ECS system) have not received any satisfactory service from Dolphin network nor the Customer Service Executives on 1503 & 9869012345, have ever been able to solve my network issue. Being loyal customer i have never received any additional benefits like special discounts on my bill for being mtnl mumbai dolphin customer for a long time but MTNL Mumbai always expects me to pay my bills on time even though MTNL Mumbai Dolphin has never been able to resovled my network problems.
    I have also changed my handset and taken a Mororola (W388) handset. Even my Dolphin network setting has not been activated in spite of taking my handset to your so call Dolphin Network dept. located at M.T.N.L. office near Bandra Kurla Complex.

    i have not subscribed to the facility MANTRAS offered by the number 564640030
    but i dont know why i get automatically subscribed to the service and i lose a lot of money for the same
    i have given a lot of complaints but unfortunately none of them are solved and as a result i have posted this
    i hope that this service is discontinued and i dont undergo further loss
    i hope that the FAULTY service and system of mtnl dolphin service is soon repaired and i get due compensation

    This is to bring to your kind notice that I have been charged excess amount for the month of May 2010. Bill amount is Rs. 614.00 whereas actual amount comes to Rs. 100.20 as bifurcated below-
    SMS - Rs. 9.00
    GPR Charge - Rs. 21.50
    Call Rate - Rs. 6.70
    GSM Roam - Rs. 63.00

    Total - Rs. 100.20
    (Rupees one hundred and paise twenty only)

    Now, till the month of July the excess amount has not been adjusted.
    Complain has been already lodged on dated 21.06.2010 & the complain no. is CC1006329844 at your complain Phone No. 1503.
    You are therefore requested to kindly do the correction at the earliest and hope to be rectified in the bill for the month of August 2010.

    Default 3g Simacard Reciept and Activation

    The service provided MTNL is now beyond pathetic.

    In order to get a 3G card i submitted my documents at the concerned MTNL office in khar. After taking the documents money etc, the officer states that their system is down and they can not provide me the sim-card.
    This sim-card i recieve after 5 days.

    The only reason i purcahsed the simcard was because of the 3g service which was not activated. To activate the same i called 1503, the first repspondent stated that the service would begin in 12-24hours. its been 3 days and it has not started. Everytime i call the helpline, the respondent would say it will be activated in 3hours. The last respondent then gives their favorite statement "our system is down" and has the audacity to tell me that because you have a postpaid number we have a problem activating the services.

    The worst service experience i have had, The call center seems to be a bunch of dodos who only state the words "sorry for the inconvince, it will start soon" - absoultely disgusting

    dear sir

    I am a user of mtnl dolphin trump (PREPAID) MY NUMBER IS 9757084867 card on the name of shalene dias. i would like to inform you that on 10 NOV 2010 .four supplementary services got activated automatically from your end . i started receiving flash messages that cricket,astrology, bollywood ,and good morning services have been activated.

    i was totally shocked when your customer care executive told me that i have activated the services when i do not even know the codes. now is is a very serious problem which people are being harressesd by the telephone companies.

    i have now activated dnd service on my handset and am not using ur sim at the moment. until this problem is solved by you coz you cannot expect me to keep filling my main account and then lose everything to all your useless services
