I have registered on the NDNC as of September 2007 with Airtel who is my service provider. I keep getting Telemarketing calls on my mobile in the form of calls and SMS messages.
While I continue to report all Telemarketing Calls to the Service provider, and receive a reference number against each, their efforts to stop such calls appears to be ineffective as the same parties continue to call.
I have asked Airtel to assist me in filing a penalty on the repetitive perpetrators - but they have expressed their reluctance to do so.
Of late, I have started receiving promotional calls from Airtel themselves, and on the fifth and sixth instance, when asked for TRAI recommended compensation for penalty, they have been defiant about it and have declined to settle.
I have written to their Chairman lodging a claim - but no response to date.
I need advise on how the consumer can show is teeth, when there is no expectation from his end but is facing harrassment.
