    Default AIRTEL Harassment Centre

    AIRTEL as they claim do not have customer care centre, rather they only have customer harassment centre, I was using AIRTEL broadband for the last 8 years without any problem. Recently I shifted to new residence with in the same locality and I was promised by Airtel Mayur Vihar office that broadband will be made available at my new residence, later I was shocked when it was turned down saying that it is not possible.

    However I went in for their Data Card 9717111523 and took unlimited plan and was using it for 2 months, the real problem/nightmare started when I got a call from AIRTEL saying that they will install broad band connection at my place with the same no. I was having 01142154495 and that too they will offer 20% discount for 6 months and in 2 days the wiring too was done (and the wiring is still there), and was promised that I will get the connection in 2 days times.

    After that it was nightmare and harassment for me from AIRTEL end as I started calling up Airtel people every day and was told that I will get the connection the next day, and I spoke to so many executives and every time I have to narrate the same story all from the start (it is really frustrating). I started calling from 2nd may 09, again on 4th may req. no. 193903340, 6th may request no 19532946, 10th may req. no 77623884 and many other requests in between and every time they committed that the connection will be given the next day. Finally by mid April I was told that broad band connection is not possible, than why they called me at the first place and say they can give the connection

    In between since I was having their data card unlimited connection which ended on 8th may, I reduced that to Rs 49 plan in anticipation of getting their broad band connection (as I got the wiring done and I was repeatedly assured that I will get the connection) which was quiet but natural. Later by mid April I was told that they could not give me the connection for technical reason, than why on the earth they called me end April saying that they will give my old broad band connection

    Since I did not get their connection in time, I used it for just 2 days and I got a whopping bill of Rs 2900 plus taxes, I was shocked as my guess was that at the most I will have to end up paying additional 300-400 and which I was even ready.

    Now AIRTEL customer harassment executive started harassing me, atleast spoke to 100 odd executives and got fed up repeating the story again and again, and every one listened to my problem, and agreed to it that the problem is from their end, but they all wanted was the bill to be paid, I talked to Nodal office and again the same old story, and today 22nd June 09 I talked to their appellate with the hope atleast they will listen and understand the problem, again after listening to everything and agreeing to the fact that broad band people made wrong commitment, again they sang the same old story sung by customer care and nodal office.

    Every one treats Broadband and data card as two different company and said we are not concerned what broad band people did to you, we want you to pay the bill for data card as per usage, where as for me both are AIRTEL and because of the wrong promises I ended up lowering my plan of datacard and for using datacard for just 2 days I am asked to cough up Rs 2900 plus taxes. They have simple logic, never admit your mistake and always put it on the customer’s head.

    1. Why in the first place I got a call from AIRTEL Broad band saying that they will install broad band connection at my place later to say it is not possible after all the harassments
    2. If the unlimited plan for data card is 999 per month, does it makes sense to charge Rs 2900 for using it for 2 days. (even if the charge as per plan 10 paise per 10 kb)
    3. If my credit limit is Rs 1700 why I was allowed to use it for Rs 2900?

    I just could not stand the harassment by these Airtel people as already I have enough tensions at my place as my mom is seriously ill for 10 years as she underwent major operation in 2000 and could not take additional tension and ultimately paid the amount of Rs 3305.98 bill no 924988743, bill dated 09-Jun-2009 on 22nd June by Credit card.

    But honestly I am not able to digest the amount of 3305 for just using it for 2 days, where as unlimited one is just Rs 700 odd and I was using their AIRTEL broad band for the last 7-8 years and every one agrees that the problem lies at the AIRTEL end (whether broadband or datacard) but datacard department treats themselve a totally different company and talks as if Broadband is not part of AIRTEL.

    Very clearly every one let it be nodal officer or the appellate agrees to the fact that it is the fault from Broadband(airtel) but at the same time they sing the old tune, that you have used the data card and you have to pay as per the usage

    Now this Rs 3305.00 is money spent waste and I could have used it to buy medicines for my mom for one month. But AIRTEL has one logic never admit your fault and put all the blames on customer head and recover the money whether right or wrong

    Default Airtel - Abusing COLLECTION CENTRES

    The new mode of Airtel is COST COLLECTION CENTRES.

    customer care from 121 cannot speak harshly so they use a mean called collection centres....

    when payment is delayed , some lady calls up and asks for payment,

    Calls from:

    9952958546
    9940168621

    she calls from this number in different name: Anitha,Sowmya,hema....

    the conversation goes like this

    she : hey pay the amount xxxx - (all In tamil,)
    Me: who is this
    she: airtel
    Me: May i know ur name pls
    she: why u want name, pay the bill
    Me: ok mam, i will pay not a problem...but i need 3 more days
    she: yendi , phone pesa theriyudhu pay panna mudiyadha?? (her great killing language - she absued me)
    then i cut the call saying ok mam will pay.
    .................................................. ...................................

    then that she calls my collegue & friends( contact number taken from my history it seems)

    she: hello, you pay the bill for she
    Friend : why???????????????
    she: she only told that you will pay for her.
    Friend : okay i will talk to to her and come back

    .................................................. .................................................. .........................
    My friend : hi, have you asked me to pay your airtel bill
    Me : what????? me?????????? no dear i am not...?????
    My friend : oh ok, but i got a call from a lady that you gave my number and asked me to pay for you...
    Me: oh, i'm sorry ya... its not so..i will deal... i'm really sorry, i have not given your number.
    My friend : thats ok ma, no probs...
    call ended
    .................................................. .................................................. .....................................
    SHE CALLED MY ANOTHER FRIEND AND MY FRIEND CALLED ME BACK I TOLD THE SAME....

    THE SAME HAPPEND AGAIN....

    unfortunately i was studying for my MBA exam , as the next day was the exam...

    she called me 20 times

    i made a complaint in 121 and requested to that i will be paying by next week so please ask that lady to stop calling me and using 3rd class languages.....

    but she was still calling......

    i was keep on complaining to 121.... infact several times.... and she was/is still calling me...

    As usual 121 was keep saying that " you wont get a call again from that number" we have taken action--As Usual
    ..................................................
    BUT.... that lady was/is still calling me....and uses the same third class language...

    For your complaint you will have to send a written complaint to the nodal officer of the Company. Pls. provide us your complete residential address as soon as possible, to get the contact details of your Area Circle, Nodal officer.

    Also inform us whether its a corporate plan or any other?

    hi,

    same type of customer service harrassment happened to my friend seeing that we cancelled our Airtel corporate connections...

    They need a better way to force customers for payment of bills than tracing the call and calling everyone....<which is illegal I suppose>>>

    airtel is 3rd grade service and poor customer service...as far as i know its better to go some other services.....

    Thumbs down AIRTEL = HARASSMENT and TORTURE

    My history is as below:
    Billing period Amount to be paid as per bill Status with comments
    17 Apr – 16 May 09 3490 PAID
    17 May - 16 June 09 1795.91 PAID


    17 June - 16 July 09 - Amont to be paid as per bill : INR 6213
    It was noticed that inspite of period charges for this month of just 3713, Airtel charged a total of 6213. On checking the bill it was noticed that Airtel raised the bill erroneously (having charged me only 1795.91, instead of 4295. On further investigation, it came to light that for the month of 17 May-16June, Airtel had considered payments made by another customer during the Apr - May bill, for 5999, as opposed to the actual payment of 3490 made by me in May.
    This lead to the bill raised for May-June being only 1795, instead of 3490, as disclosed by Airtel.
    Further during the month of June-July, Airtel, inspite of their mistake, charged me in addition to the differnce amount of INR 2509, various additional charges, including:
    (a) one time charges - INR 100
    (b) late fee for last bill period - INR 125
    (c) and taxes on the above.

    The same was discussed with Airtel over vairous phone calls with customer care, and further settled on visiting the branches. On discussing, they agreed that a mistake had occured on their part and requested me to submit a bill of INR 3479 (for the month June-July) + the INR 2509, thus a total of INR 5978. I requested for a corrected revised bill, and was told it is not a practice, and should not be necessary.
    I presumed the issue was all taken care of and sorted. Well... I was sooooooo wrong.

    17 July - 16 Aug 09 Amount to be paid as per bill - INR 3907
    "This time around being careful, I checked my bill. And yes, no surpises, but I found that the
    (a) bill said, I was to pay 6213 last month, and had only paid up INR 5979. Again, on top of the same, they charged me a late fee of INR 50.
    (b) On my list of international phone calls, (which i made only few this month), i noticed that Airtel charged me about 3 times the usual charges on the per unit calls. Earlier they charged me about INR6.40 per min, while during this month they conveniently charged a whopping INR 16.10 (almost 3 times the normal rates)
    As expected, had several calls with airtel, but in vain. On finding no resolution from the so called ""customer care center (CCC)"", i had to visit the bracnh office. On going to the branch, they again dialled a CCC number and handed over the phone to me. Inspite of having discussed and explianed the entire history INNUMEROUS times, AIRTEL still did not have any record of my complaints. WHile i fail to understand what the customer care representative, was doing, every time, he/she put me on hold, saying, let me record this on your a/c. In any case, i made one last final visit to the Airtel branch in Koramangala, and they said, they could not do anything, and that the intl callign rates had been revised cos of which I had received the higher bill. On checking, why they had not informed the customer of such a STEEP increase, through any of their notification mechanisms, they again had no resposne. And FUNNILY ENOUGH, the bill issued by AIRTEL still mentioned the intl call charges to be INR 6.40 per min.
    I requested that Airtel give me a revised bill, making the corrections, to which they said they will not put it on paper, that they had erred. Going by my past expereicne, i made it clear that i was not making a payment, unless i had a revised CORECTED bill.
    I further spoke to the Nodal officer wiht my complaint. One Ms. Sapna, who promised me that the issue would be taken care of withing 5 working days and that they were to make the necessary corrections and contact me on my phone. However, i received no such call further, and only my subsequent bills, claiming to yet another late fee charges and additional taxes and everything you can imagine.
    Inspite of wasting all my time and energy and money tarveling to airtel offices i received no responses. At this stage tired, i requested Airtel to disconnect my services. However, nothing happened, and after a month started (in Nov) getting calls from Airtel, harassing me to make teh payment. At every point when I explained that they were at fault, they agreed, however, would not send me a corrected billl for the same. They would only claim to make the correction - as a DISCOUNT offered to me. I do not need favors from Airtel, and have been very clear, that i am willing to pay every penny of money i owe them, and need to discount from them, but only a corrected bill. Why is it hard to accept on paper that you have made a mistake.
    During mid Nov, after my services were disconnected, they started harassing me, by calling every person on my outgoing list, and telling them that i was a cheat, that i was a thief and that i was liable to pay them INR10,000. This is a HUUUUUUUUUUUUGE humiliation for people at my level and stature, who had been a genuine customer, with no records of defualt with them sicne 8 year (through 2 connections) having an avg bill of 4000 - 5000 per month. I would not in such case, fight for a 300 Rupee, if i were not right.
    In view of the history above, i have contacted my lawyers and am looking at the options to file a suit against AIRTEL (for defamation, harassement and incorrect billing on regular basis)"

    How do we handle people who pin you down and cheat you for meagre small amounts. After all, thanks to the Indian population, they have become rich, by cheating the billlions in India, on small amount.
