The same fraud happened with me also. I stay in Delhi and on 27.11.2011, I received a call from Vodafone representative named Mr. Siddharth,ph. no. 9873728281 from C-48 okhla industrial area.. He told me that being a very old corporate customer,I've been offered a plan 999(advance rent for 3 years) wherein I will be given 500 minutes free/month and any two numbers can be registered for which calls will be free of charge. I enquired this from vodafone customer care but they told me the same story that they do not have any information about such kind plan but corporate marketing group can offer such kinds of plans to selected customers. They gave me a e-mail id corporatecare@vodafone.com. When I sent the query they did not respond. In the meantime, the person(Mr. Siddarth) called up again and in anticipation of this person from corporate departmemt, I call him over to my house. My instinct was warning me again and again about the fraud as the customer agreement form had logo of vodafone but didnot have 'VODAFONE' written under it and his insistence on paying in cash. But his convincing behaviour forced me to overlook all these indications and I paid him Rs. 900/ as advance rental. Next day onwards, his phone is not reachable and I realised that I was duped.
Vodafone should warn the customers against such kind of frauds when they contact customer care at least and they should immediately provide the customer with appropriate contact numbers.
