    Default AIRTEL using foul tactics to hold customers by rejecting thier MNP request

    I am facing the problem of MNP from Airtel to IDEA, I have requested for MNP from Airtel on 20th Jan 2011, and for which i have received my UID, I have visited the IDEA office and submitted the MNP request form with all the documents required along with last outstanding amout reciept from Airtel.(***I have cleared all outstanding bill amount)

    After 14 days also the number was not ported and on my visit to IDEA office the customare care showed me the computer screen that Airtel has rejected the MNP with reason something as companies obligatation.... The number i have is my personal number and not by any company, and also there was no rejection or acceptance SMS by Airtel(donor) as it should be.

    On calling to Airtel Customer care i was told and confirmed that since i have not got any SMS for rejection so it is not rejected but whereas i can see it was rejected by Airtel, the customer care sucks I would request Airtel not to stop the customer who are requesting for MNP and request Airtel higer authority to look into this matter.

    Default Airtel Mobile - Issue with MNP

    Hi
    My mob no is 9945008205. I had requested for a mobile number portability to port my service provider from Airtel to Vodafone due to issues with Airtel's customer service. The number is a prepaid number and hence there is nothing outstanding from my side. However, after I submitted a whole lot of documents(app form, ID proof, Addr proof, number ownership proof, etc) to Vodafone, Airtel has rejected the porting request and I am forced to continue with the same service provider without any valid reason. On the suggestion of the national consumer helpline, I wrote a formal mail to the Airtel Karnataka nodal officer seeking explanation for the rejection and there has been no response to the communication till date. Request help on the next steps.

    Thumbs down Airtel rejecting MNP

    My mobile number is 9790906898 and I have tried moving to Vodafone from Airtel couple of times.

    The first time it was rejected saying there was outstatnding balance. But my bill came after I had submitted for MNP. I wrote an email to the Nodal officer airtel to find the reasoning of rejection.

    Anyways, I paid the bill amount and again applied for MNP. It was again rejected by Airtel, saying the 'Porting Code does not match the Donor allocated code'. But the code given by airtel to me was AT 121875.

    This is very bad in part of Airtel. They could retain customers with better plans and services. But curtailing the rights of the citizens should be punished.
