    Airtel rejecting MNP Applications from its customers without reasons and doesnt even update them. i am with Airtel and wanted to move to another vendor. post all verification, Airtel calmly rejected my mnp application and my desired service provider updated me on the same while Airtel 121 doesnt even know about the status.

    Default Airtel Delay tactics to retain customers from MNP movement

    I am facing the same problem of MNP from Airtel Service to IDEA, I have requested for MNP from Airtel on 20th Jan 2011, and for which i have received my UID as: AZ139612, after getting that i have visited the IDEA office and submitted the MNP request form with all the documents required along with last outstanding amout reciept from Airtel.

    After 14 days also the number was not ported and on my visit to IDEA office i have found the Airtel has rejected the MNP with reason something as companies obligatation.... The number i have is my own personal number and not companies on calling and confirming to Airtel Customer care i was told that since i have not got any SMS for rejection so it is not rejected but whereas i can see it was rejected by Airtel, I would request Airtel not to stop the customer who are requesting for MNP and request Airtel higer authority to look into this matter.

    Thumbs down vodafone retains the MNP with their tactics of delaying process without initmation

    My self Kanthi with vodafone number 9703849345 has applied for number portability with the code given by them on 11th jan and later came to know that it has been rejected due to code mismatching though I have provided the same. Later I applied for another code and passed on that code to the other service provider with whom I have applied. they have lodged a request again on 24th jan and no intimation from vodafone later. after few days later when i contacted the customer care in office hours, they conveyed me that no person is available in this regard and requested me to call again next day. when I contacted again they told me that my outstanding amount is pending which I need to visit the vodafone store and pay for further processing. I visited their store at ASRao nagar and paid instantly with cash and got the response from store people that it will be processed automatically since i have paid everything. After ten days today when I contacted the customer care for not providing any feedback, they conveyed that my number may fall into previlage category (first time I am hearing this word) for which i need to visit the store again to pay the concerned portability charges and customer care cannot tell the amount. It is surprising to hear the new term for which we need to pay without our knowledge as well as we have to waste our time in visiting their store again to get to know charges. Then I contacted the nodal officer by tracking his number online and got the feedback from him that I need to pay Rs.1000 for my previlage number that was provided by vodafone without the customer knowledge. And also I have pay the outstanding bill till date. As one can understand that the out standing amount will go pending day by day even if you pay till today because they never take the process. Neither the customer care nor vodafone store gives clear information to the customer though it might be surprising charges to him. Hence I request the consumer court or forum to look in to these issues and let the customer know exactly what he is supposed to do in this regard. I also request them take necessary action against the service provider for using these cheap tactics to delay the process and thus retains the number like this.

    Unhappy BSNL refuses to port out my number to another service provider

    Hi

    I have been trying to port out my number from BSNL to Airtel. Both these service providers have made me run around from the time this process started in Bangalore.
    Though I have submitted the application with Airtel I got the process rejected saying my bill for month was due, whereas the bill date is only 25th Feb 2011.
    I went to the extent of prepaying my bill for this month, but both these providers claim their system has not been updated of the payment and futher process delayed. BSNL customer care number is used more for advertising their 3G service rather than answering the query of customers.
    Is there a solution?
    Seeing the complaints on this forum I feel all these service providers are giving some excuse to hold on to the customers.

    Sir, I'm a customer of Airtel in Orissa Circle bearing SIM No. 9556909508. Sir, so many times, I faced financial loss and mental agony due to various mischievous & unsatisfactory service provided by Airtel, like activating the caller tunes, dialer tones etc. without my request to them. Whenever, I complained about such things to the customer care of Airtel, they are making me some fraud commitments, but not working on my complaint. Being fade up with such services from Airtel, I thought several times of changing the service provider from Airtel to some other Operator. But due to change of my entire number, I could not able to do so and suffered the harassment of Airtel.
    I got a hope to change my number from Airtel to some other Operators after launching Mobile Number Portability (MNP) by TRAI, Government of India. Through this process, I have applied in the prescribed format by providing all necessary documents. In the month of January, I first requested to Airtel for the Porting ID. They have also provided me the Porting ID with some days of validity. Then, I filled in the form of STEL Operator and provided them with all the necessary documents. Though, the validity of Porting ID got over, my number has not been transferred from Airtel to STEL. That’s why, I again requested Airtel for the second time for a new Porting ID. Airtel again provided me with the Porting ID bearing No. AO264654 and the expiry date is 10.03.2011. Though, the validity period of the second Porting ID is about to over, my number is not yet activated.

    When I enquire into this by calling to the Customer Care of STEL, they answered me that Airtel is not cooperating them and showing unwillingness by not providing my details to them for porting for which STEL is unable to cope up with my request.

    Therefore, I’m requesting you to take necessary follow up action at your end by withdrawing my Mobile Number 9556909508 from Airtel, and activating the said number in STEL Operator for which act of your kindness, I will be ever obliged.
