I have received an SMS from BPL Mobile informing that there is a new scheme
wherein for Rs. 20/- I can talk BPL Mobile to Mobile for 100 minutes without any
extra charges. Accordingly I have opted for the scheme and Rs. 20/- was
deducted from my mobile account. After a few days,when I tried to call an
another BPL Number, I was shocked to know that there was no balance. Since they
have already deducted Rs. 20/- from my account, then how there was nil balance.
In their SMS neither they have mentioned about the validity period of the scheme
nor the scheme is AUTO renewal. They simply deducting money from the mobile
account without even informing the customer.
The customer service of BPL is the worst. Whenever you dial their customer
service no. 50555 they never talk properly. On 17.09.08 at 4.30 p.m. when I was
talking to the customer service supervisor (Ms. Nikita/Ms. Nivya)she simply
disconnected the line.
TRAI shold take appropriate action against such service providers for deducting
money unilaterly. There should not be any scheme, whereby without the permission
of the customer, money cannot be deducted from the account.
