Hi,

I have been a mobile subscriber with Vodafone Mumbai for >5 years. It was Hutch
and Orange before that.

Within my family I have 5 connections- 2 postpaid and 3 prepaid. At home, I
usually get signal from the Tardeo C tower. However, since Vodafone took over,
the signal strength has dropped drastically. For more than 2 months, I am only
getting reception from fringe area towers and it does not help.

With Senior citizens and an infant at home, it is a big problem if the numbers
are unreachable. I have made numerous complaints directly and through
escalations from my corporate channel. Each time, I have been given an assurance
that engineers would survey the area and signal strength would improve. I have
observed that the signal is improved during the survey so that they can close
the case and then it is the same issue after few hours.

Since this is a long pending problem, I asked them to increase the validity of
my prepaid connections which are refilled on a yearly basis. I did not ask for
any compensation or refunds... just a increase in validity. They turned it down
saying it is clearly written in the customer agreement that no refunds will be
made in case of signal problems. I feel this is very wrong since my personal as
well as professional lives are suffering due to this problem.

Since this is a regional problem, I am sure there are hundreds if not thousands
of people facing the same problem. The only option we have now is to wait for
number portability to be offered by TRAI, so that I can keep these numbers and
use some other network.

I am ccing this email to the nodal officer of my region. I do not expect any
action from him.
Orange was a very nicely and professionally run company.
Hutch made me submit documents twice because they could not locate my records.
Vodafone has put us back into stone age. What next?

Regards,
Adil
