Subject: Cheated on a new post paid number
Dear Customer care,
I want to bring to your notice a practise that is being followed all over to
gain more customers.
Last evening I had an emergency and wanted to get a prepaid phone to give to
one of my elderly relative who was travelling to US via London.
This relative is on a wheel chair so we wanted to give her a phone so that
she could call us from London while in Transit - specially when its her
first overseas visit.
I went to a dealer who deals in all Sim cards - Vardhama Communications at
Sectore 41 C Block Market in NOIDA.
I took a new Vodaphone number 7838040759.
I was promised that the phone will get activated in 2- 3 hours. I bought it
at 830pm after paying up Rs. 1950 ( Validity + Recharge + Hand Set)
It did not get activated even now at 8am. My relative has already left for
London and with the phone not working. The whole purpose of
this exercise is defeated and we are now stuck with no way to get in touch
with our relative while she is in London.
I hold the company responsible for this.
Mr Ram Singh (mobile number - 9810964315) is the person who runs Vardhamaan
Communications. He in turn gets his stock from Pradeep (9899702812)
at Durga communication, office ATTA MARKET, Sector 18 NOIDA. Though when I
spoke with Mr. Pradeep - he told me that he works for Vodaphone and also for
Durga Communications.
I got the Sim - recharged the phone with Rs. 149 for validity then again for
Rs. 500. I even bought a new Nokia Hand Set for it.
Now what are we to do with this situation.
I believe this is Cheating and the company need to streamline who is
authorised to issue sims and make sure that the commitments are fulfilled.
Please let me know as to what I am I suppose to do of this situation. This
is frustrating and is a case of CHEATING.
I expect the company to take a firm stand in this situation and sort out
this matter.
Its not just the money that went down the drain - but the anxiety the whole
family will under go till our relative reaches USA her final destination.
My number is 9560886570
Please co-operate and let me hear from you at the earliest.
Yaatendra

I AGIAN WROTE THE FOLLOWING : ( Lets wait to hear what they have to say now)
Tanvi,
Thank you for a well rehearsed reply.
I would not like to treat this as an exception especially when the vendor sugested to get Vodaphone over any other since we wanted the phone to work flawlessly in London.
Do you have any appreciation for the fact that the family must have gone through an agonising wait before we could hear that the relative has reached safe in the US.
That specific phone was bought ONLY for the purpose of connecting with our relative while in London transit. NOW WE DO NOT NEED THAT PHONE AT ALL.
I sincerely feel that the way you have taken this issue is not PROFESSIONAL. I am sure that you and your team have not even divulged into finding out what happened.
Did you call up the representative (Mr Pradeep) whom I mentioned in my mail to find out. NO. Because likes of Mr. Pradeep would be giving false promises through their network of vendors to gain as many more subscribers as possible (competition for largest subscriber base - after all) . An in event of this exercise, if a few customers get cheated - its OK. Am I right ??
You have simply Copy Pasted the well animated reply with my name on it.
I am not all satisfied with your approach and your words do not bring any comfort.
I would be happy to post my case to various forums and consumer grievance cell to at least get the message across to people who are not aware of such practices.
Why was I promised that the connection would get activated in 2- 3 hours ?
This was done by Mr Ram Singh (mobile number - 9810964315, owner of Vardhmaan Communications) he reconfirmed it with Pradeep (9899702812) who is a VODAPHONE employee.
Did you at all try to find out what happened. I am sure that this is wasting your resources and the attention is to gain more new customers.
I promise that I would never get a Vodaphone and will discourage others to get it. I have been cheated by a procedure that your company allows its employees to give false commitments to gain new customers.
I need a comprehensive explanation.
I CANNOT TREAT THIS IN EXCEPTION. I HAVE BEEN CHEATED BY VODAPHONE AND THEIR REPRESENTATIVES.
