Recently I purchased an airtel prepaid number in Bangalore, by provided all relavant documents. The connection was provided within 5 minutes of purchase. after 5 days Airtel customer care has called my number to do a verification, (which was not intimated to me by any means), at that time, I met with a small accident and I was taking bed rest, so i asked my mother to attend all calls and give me only relavant call so that I am not disturbed. but these airtel people have called after 5 days, by listening to my mother's voice (and may be they have asked a few questions in english, which my mother did not understand properly and did not answer) and they have assumed that the number is not used by me, but some one else is using this number. (how silly assumption without properly verifying the facts carefully) they have come to this conclusion and debarred my number instantly, when I contacted airtel within 2 days of this fiasco, they told me that they can't do any thing in this regard, because they have debarred this number permanently and recycled this number without my permission. I am the sole owner of that number, If any thing wrong happens, I will face consequence, why is airtel bothered that only the person in whose name the Sim is registered should answer their call, if the person was not available, they should have asked me to come to their office and prove my identification that I m using the same number and it is not with any anti social element. But this is not the right way to debar the sim and recycle it without any intimation. I totally condemn this action by airtel, as they have harrased me mentally. and they are refusing to give my balance amount in the SIM, as I had close to 200/ Rs in balance.
I want Airtel to repay all the amount and some more amount in compensation for harrassment
