This is a discussion on Airtel Post Paid Complaint within the Mobile Services forums, part of the Mobile category; I had Airtel Pre-paid card Number 9967791429 and had applied for airtel post paid connection on 8th Feb 2010. Airtel ...
I had Airtel Pre-paid card Number 9967791429 and had applied for airtel post paid connection on 8th Feb 2010.
Airtel Executive provided me a Post Paid Sim Card. I was informed on 8th that your Post Paid connection will be started within 4 days.
On 16th Feb my Pre-Paid stopped working.I inserted my Post Paid card in my cell phone and I got msg 'Sim Card Registration Failed'.I called Airtel customer care Pre-Paid and was told to contact Post Paid and they informed me that your Number no longer belongs to the Pre-paid segment. I called post paid and they told me to wait for 3 days and assured me that your connection will start working.
On 20th Saturday 11am I visited Airtel service center at Goregaon SV Road, I showed them the msg an they informed me to purchased a new post paid card. They told me the post paid card that you have received is corrupt. I paid for new post paid card and provided them all the documents and also confirmed if they require any other documents. They told me that all the formalities are complete and the Number will start working in 1 hr.
After 1 hr I visited the gallery again and told them that the Number is still not working and I am still getting a msg "Sim Card Regitrtion Failed". They told me to come after 4 hours. After 4 hours I went again and they told me that its not their fault and some thing is wrong with the server or system. In the mean while I called 4 times through Airtel Hotline Number and no one helped to get the issue rectified.
One of the Cust Care Agent told me "You have not paid Bill". I told him that my Airtel Post Paid connection is not yet started and How cum the Bill comes in picture and she disconnected.I was told by Airtel Gallery "Nothing can be done from our side".
On 20th my connection was started. Again on 22nd my Airtel outgoing calls were blocked, I called Customer Care and was told that the enrollment form is not submitted. I told them that I had filled the Airtel Post Paid form but none of the Airtel Cust Care Agents were listenning to me. I was told to visit any Airtel Gallery and re-submit the documents and form again. I requested for a Gallery Address which works on Sunday. I was told to go to Malad or Borivili center.
On Sunday 28th Feb I visited Airtel Borivili center. For 1/2 hr I was not addressed at all as all the Employees were busy chatting and enjoying. Finally I stopped one of the Employee there and informed him abt my querry. He was not even bothered to enter my number in theI system and check the status. I told him to accept the documents and he informed me "Today documents are not accepted". I told him that I was told to visit a Airtel Gallery and give the documents. He refused to accept by documents and when I requeted him so that I can fill the enrollment form again but he told me documents can not be submitted till Tuesday. He was trying to assist me and told me that Even if the documents are submitted by Tuesday the connection will Start by Next Friday. I told him OK and just take my enrollment form. He was least interested and asked his nearby person "Ajj hum log documents nahi accept karte hai na". The other person answered "HA". I was told to go back to the Airtel gallery in goregaon and was told that we will not be able to check your number details in the system. Finally I am no where. My Airtel Pre-Paid is stopped working and Post Paid is stopped working. But I am getting notifiction SMS abt my usage.
Is this the service provided to a customer who is offered to upgrade from prepaid to postpaid by one of your sales representative. After sale is successful for the dept. A Customer told to contact to and fro various centre to get the number working.
Well this email will not matter or may be ignored. However if outgoing of my cell phone is not activated. I will be forced to approach Customer Grievances Cell as well as Consumer Court for harassment provide by Airtel.
The Above mentioned Email was mailed to Airtel by me on 1st - March 2010.On 2nd March my service was completely stopped and again I got msg on my cell phone "Sim Card Registration Failed". Airtel has worst service. It was my biggest mistake to change from Pre-Paid to Post paid. After my service which was completely disconnected, I called cust service and I was told to go to any gallery and submit documents. I need some help from consumer court.

On around 26th October i got a call from airtel that I will get free blackeberry messeging service from Airtel for free for two months for which i have to pay no charges. And it got activated on the 28th October and that got deactivated on the 5 th November .And when i called the customer care 121 they said i activated the service myself for which i will be charge Rs.299 wheras i never got it activated and when i told them that Airtel is fooling by such calls and for the bad network they themselves took an action and took a request for deactivation of blackberry service which was not made by me and i again got a call on th 6th morning which said my service request for deactivation has been accepted which was never made by me.This type of action is not expected from such a reputed company i m such an old airtl user and never faced such a problem but from past few months i have been disturbed by bad network and now what happened with blackberry service.I think some action should be taken against Airtel.Kindly oblige
