    Angry AIRTEL - taking away my money without my consent for unwanted services

    Dear Sir/Madam:
    I'm forward a complaint message sent to Airtel Customer Care to you.
    Pl. suggest me to get a quick solution for my problem

    I see from the above threads almost all the mobile service providers except BSNL doing this activity of deducting money for unwanted services without customers consent.

    Also tell me what is TRAI's role in this. What is the way out from this problem.

    A PRE-RECORDED MESSAGE TELLS ME TO DIAL 543212903 TO SUBSCRIBE OR UNSUBSCRIBE THIS CRICKET INFORMATION. IF I DIAL TO THAT NUMBER I GET INFORMATION ONLY IN HINDI THAT TOO NOT GIVING OPTION FOR SUBSCRIBE OR UNSUBSCRIBE. IT S A PARTIAL PRE-RECORDED MESSAGE.
    I HAVE ALSO GOT ANOTHER MODE OF UNSUBSCRIPTION THROUGH DIALLING 321 541#. THAT IS ALSO NOT HELPING ME SAYING SERVER SHUTDOWN- CONTACT LATER .
    THIS CLEARLY INDICATES THAT AIRTEL IS PURPOSIVELY TAKING AWAY MY MONEY WITHOUT MY CONSENT.
    I M CHARING TO MAKE CALLS AND NOT FOR ANY OTHER SERVICES.

    CAN I GET A QUICK SOLUTION FOR THIS. PLEASE DON T TELL TO ME TO VISIT ANY OF YOUR OFFICES IN MADURAI. THEY ARE NOT RESPONDING PROPERLY. THEY ASK ME TO TALK TO CUSTOMER CARE THROUGH PHONE. THEY ARE REALLY HELPLESS TO ME. THEY ARE NOT PROVIDED WITH REQUIRED AUTHORITY IT SEEMS.

    TELL ME WHO CAN HELP ME. I WANT TO PAY ONLY FOR MY OUTGOING CALLS AND NOT FOR ANY OTHER UNINTERESTED SERVICES FROM AIRTEL.

    I JUST HEARD ABOUT THIS PROBLEM IN A RECENT DAILY NEWSPAPER THIS PROBLEM IS FACED MY MANY OF THE AIRTEL CUSTOMERS.


    IF THIS CONTINUES YOU WILL BE LOSING MONEY ON OUTGOING CALLS VALUABLE CUSTOMERS. THEY WILL SHIFT TO OTHER SERVICE PROVIDERS.

    Hi Anand,
    I faced this problem with Airtel very recently and disconnected the service few daays back. Airtel is absolutely irresponsible in doing this kind of aggressive marketting at the cost of their customers. They inject downloads into your mobile and claim that they are valid downloads. I am with you if you are planning to take up this matter with the TRAI. There is no point in talking to Nodal officer or regional head or National head or even Mr. Sunil Mittal for that matter. May be these are the shortcuts for becoming a billionaire

    I am not able to post my complaint URL but if you type "9845226582" in the search space, you will get my complaint space.

    Try to figure out if there are more people suffering silently and let us bring this scam to light.

    Default airtels way of cheating

    airtel has introduced a service called start stop service where the cutomers can start ot stop a value added service like hello tunes or friends chat e.t.c... and this appears to be the easiest way to stop a service... you have to type stop and send the sms to 121... then you will get a message from 1210 listing the services available under your airtel mobile number.. but when you reply back the seriel number which you would like to stop the message will come back to the outbox only... its impossible to send it to 1210... why does airtel cheat customers like this.. i tried to do this with sony.. nokia.. samsung and even blackberry mobiles but it has never worked at all... and also there is no option to stop the friends chat service at all... they keep detucting 30 rupees every month... horrible stuff... will ever airtel stop doing this???

    Default Everyone should appreciate the way AIRTEL applies to cheat its Customers

    I have got an AIRTEL connection having number 9800052198. Like any other AIRTEL Customer I am being charged for various packs (Like Bhakti pack, Cricket pack) for which I never subscribed. In couple of days one fine morning I am forced to receive the sms-s like Your Bhakti pack has been renewed for next five days and you have been charged Rs 5.......Your Cricket pack has been renewed for next five days and your are charge @ Re 1 per day. I called their customer care a number of times (121); as usual I failed to contact CC officer due to temporary congestion in the route. I do not know the meaning of "temporary". Does it apply when someone is unable to contact after trying continuously for 5days? Anyway, on 19th Feb at around 10:30 PM luckily I was able to contact them. (Please note that, I first time noticed that I had charged for talking with customer care officer, being in my home circle and also calling to my own customer care number. I do not know what type of beggar AIRTEL is!). Coming to the point, I was utterly surprised to hear the blame from the customer care officer that I have activated the service from my end. I tried to convince the CC officer, but she was so rude that she did not hear me properly and disconnected the line. As other customers, I never activated the service from my side. I again called the customer care number and connected with another customer care officer, he also disconnected the call without listening my problem. I called again and asked the customer officer to transfer the call to his superior, he kept me on hold for long time and disconnected the call (note that this call was chargeable). Latter on I got an sms as the reference number CMCWC20219984529 at 22.53 hr 19.02.2011 (I do not know, whether it's for the first call, 2nd call or for the 3rd call). Today again I received the intimation of renewal of Cricket Pack (for which I never subscribed) and my account has been debited by Rs. 5. I do not know why they cheat their customers like this! Is this their new policy to earn more revenues? I may be contacted in my email: pranabkundu[at]gmail.com

    Default Cheating Continues

    In addition, today morning, my AIRTEL account has been debited by Rs 5 without any reason. Yesterday night I checked the balance as Rs 66.74 and today morning surprisingly it was 61.74

    Default Airtel charging me for downloads that i did not do

    This is regarding two deductions from my prepaid account.
    On May 25th i got a message saying "Thanks for using wekklysub subscription service from Airtel. You have been charged Rs 20 latest games http gclub.inbrowsing @30p/20kb"

    I called customer care and after a lot of back and forth they agreed that i didn't actually download anything like this.
    This movie was supposed t be refunded.

    Today May 28th i got a message saying " Thanks for downloading Tekken from Airtel. You have been charged 99.latest games http gclub.in browsing @30p/20kb

    I called up customer care and asked for a resolution.I didnt get through for 15 mins kept getting disconnected after reaching customer care person. Finally i got through and then was transferred by teh person to his team leader as he couldn't sort it out on his own.

    Now here are my issues
    1. Very rude customer service - i admit i was a little miffed but the person called Kishor wasn't cooperative wasn't helpful at all.
    2. he said he would take my word for it impying that I could be lying and refund the money.
    3. I also asked him how to remove airtel live services which seems to be activated on my phone. He didn't comply immediately instead said i'm giving your money back...madam and i'm taking your word for it!
    4. After being on hold again for a long time he gives me setting change which doesn't even work. So i still don't know how to stop airtel live services or any other stupid thing which is downloading stuff and deducting money.
    5. Why is Airtel live activated without the customers consent? Why isnt a confirmatory message sent saying " do you wnat to download ..... and a yes and no option"
    AIRTEL IS FLEECING UNSUSPECTING PEOPLE. i have stayed with this service for 8 years and now teh customer service sucks and i have to pay for it too. Imagine someone being rude when you are paying for each minute.
    IS THERE ANY SOLUTION TO THIS OR IS IT TIME TO SWITCH PROVIDERS.

    Airtel has constantly harrased my with their "Hello tunes",charged my whenever they wanted.It doesn't matter how many times i unsubscribed,they always managed to subscribe it for me.....not to mention their pathetic customer service.

    I am suffering from last 2 months.
    I finally decide to port out to other network.Goodbye Airtel.

    I also advice other users to port out to other network if you really looking for a long term solution.
