This is regarding Refund of the Security Deposit for the Airtel Account Number-105-100902595 (Mobile no. 9880201124), connection was in the name of CLARICE FLORA P at BANGALORE, refund amount Rs. 893.09

I had closed the account in Sep 2007 at Bangalore Bannerghatta Airtel Office, and had asked for the refund cheque to be sent to my PONDICHERRY address since I was leaving the country. I had even submitted my Pondicherry ration card copy as address proof. In Oct 2007, Airtel had sent a letter to my Pondicherry address asking me where to send the cheque and my bank details. I replied with my Bank details, mentioning my Pondicherry address again. Till date, I did not receive any cheque/DD. After mailing, telephoning and visiting all levels of escalation at Airtel around 14 times, I had called the Appellate officers. They (Rohit/Abdul/Blessen) bluntly tell me that the cheque was encashed on 5th Feb 2008. In Dec 2007, the cheque was wrongly delivered in Bangalore to someone by name Ashoka who had claimed to be my relative (I have no relatives in Bangalore). As I do not know who Ashoka is, the cheque NEVER REACHED my hands. It is simply not possible to encash a cheque that was in my name. I had asked them to check on the details of encashment (to whom it was paid out, bank name, etc.). Airtel says they cannot find the details. Rohit/Abdul/Blessen are Appellate authorities for Airtel (Bangalore) and it is a shame they do not even know banking procedures. All they tell me is that the cheque has been encashed, and so they will not refund my security deposit of Rs.893.09.

Isnt it their duty to deliver the cheque in right hands?
Should they not be checking their bank details as to how the cheque in my name was encashed?

Can I be helped in anyway, please?
