I want to change my Vodafone.Postpaid connection to prepaid . When i called the Vodapfone callcenter , on two executivces said that its possible by pay ng some activation fee but the third person said that its not possible we cannot convert from Postpaid to prepaid.
Please tell me what to do?

I am facing the same issue in Bangalore ....
I am using my Vodafone number since 2004. I got this pre-paid connection to post-paid sometime in 2006-2007. But now I want to move back to Pre-paid.
Called up customer care several times, but as usual, no clear answers.
I was in touch with Nodal Officer (Maithri H), but still no help. Only answer I get it is:
<B>"someone from Vodafone will get in touch with you"</B>
Some one will call and I have to explain all stuff again and again to get standard answer:
<B>Due to techinical problem, we will not be able to migrate your connection to pre-paid. Please wait for sometime for technical issues to resolve</B>
I am fed up with Vodafone ....
Just when I actually started trying new provider's pre-paid, I though of giving a final try and thought I will check on internet if anyone else also faced this issue.
Thats how I landed up and checked this thread.
If anyone can help me out, it will be great.
Change a numeber which I am using for 6 long years is not a easy task!
I have multiple bank a/c's, trading a/c etc and it will be a hell changing my contact number everywhere....

Dear Sir,
I am using vodafone services since 30 Months and my number is 9966444567. I was not happy with the network and the roaming charges. So I requested them on Dec 13th 2009 to convert my post paid to prepaid. First the store people were not ready to took the request, then I asked for written statement by explaining the reasons not to convert. Then they said OK and made me to took prepaid SIM. At that time i was informed that with in 3 working days it will be done. After one week i walked into the store to ask about the situation they told me it will take another 2 days, then I said OK. Again after one week the same condition. After 51 days they changed me to Post paid....!!!! I lost my contacts for all these days. Being a business man how can i accept this. I need a justice for this. Kindly do the needful help.

Unfortunately, I am NOT contacted.
Although I have to contact vodafone after every couple of days.
Writing to vodafonecare.kar@vodafone.com or maithri.h@vodafone.com (Nodal officer) , is not fetching any response. I have not recieved any response to my last three emails over a span of two weeks to maithri.h@vodafone.com.
I have already taken a Airtel prepaid number, and decided to quit vodafone (My 6 year old connection) by end of February if Vodafone is so UNHELPFUL and DISGUSTING when it comes to customer service.
Now I have no doubts that Vodafone is most ridiculous service provider in India!
I have got no help/call from Vodafone ppl, but got a call from felow old time Vodafone user who is facing same issues.
HAPPY TO HELP, is only on papers and not put to action by Vodafone.

After 7-9 months of Fight, My connection is back to Prepaid. You can do the follow steps seen in the website dilpu.blogspot.com/2010/03/vodafone-india-postpaid-to-prepaid-plan.html
Once you tell you want to convert back to Prepaid, they will call you again & again, tell about some attractive plans, Zero rentals etc. Its all happening because of the call rate drops and less profits
