    Question Cancellation of airtel connection request for re-fund

    Sir/ Madam
    I had requested for 2 Airtel mobile connections in the month of April.
    The numbers allotted to me were:
    9663372576
    9663371576
    I had paid Rs 300/-(total of Rs. 600/-) for each of these connections. I got a postal acknowledgment for the same from Airtel.
    I had to travel abroad on an urgent basis, since I was not available during the personal verification; the connection was not activated & hence disconnected.
    I am very much fine with this process.
    After 3 months I returned back to India & happened to visit Airtel office at Koramangala 80 ft road office for the refund of the amount.
    I was told that the systems were not working & that I have to visit again after 10 days.
    10 days later I visited again, this time I was told to call up the call center & lodge a complaint.
    I returned back & called from my alternative no to 121 to lodge a request for refund of my amount.
    There I was told to send a mail to 121@airtelindia.com
    My 1st mail was sent on 9th September

    The reply I got on 11th
    “Dear Airtel Customer,

    Thank you for writing to us.

    In our endeavour to serve you better, our systems are currently undergoing an up-gradation till 11-09-2009.

    We will be able to revert with a resolution to your query by 13-09-2009. We regret the inconvenience caused and look forward for your cooperation in this regard.

    I had not received any reply from them, so on 17th I wrote a reminder mail no reply … repeated on 22nd , I was upset so I wrote back on 22nd mentioning that I will lodge a complaint in the consumers for which I got immediate response

    “Dear Sir Madam

    Thank you for contacting Airtel.

    You have expressed concern over refund not received for your Airtel numbers.

    We understand your concern and will work towards resolving the same.

    We would like to inform you that the refund amount has been returned back to us due to non availability of persons in the billing address.

    Please, find the below mentioned details of your refund cheque.

    Cheques Courriered through Speed Link Couriers on 220609
    Deposit 300

    I have been residing in this house for 18 months now, getting all letters. Now their courier person says I have shifted from this my house… I guess that’s funny.
    I wrote back to them on 29 September asking for the courier details


    I get a reply on October 2nd
    The reply is
    Dear Mr. Mallya

    Thank you for contacting Airtel.

    We understand from your previous interaction you have expressed concern over non receipt of refund amount for the mobile numbers 9663372576 and 9663371576.

    We realize that this situation must have greatly inconvenienced you.

    We would like to inform you that your concern has been registered with us under Service Request number is 28645061 and forwarded to concern department.



    Please make note of the Service Request number for future communication and correspondance.



    We will revert back to you on or before 12 10 09. We request your cooperation until such time.

    I was asked to wait till 12th October
    I wrote back again asking for the status
    I get the same old reply on October 4th

    After my reply to the mail that I have not moved from my house

    They tell me that a quick way of getting my funds is by giving the bank details, again that will take 10 days….
    I don’t understand if they are thinking that the customers are fools or that they themselves are in their own world.
    I had requested a office boy from Divyashree Towers office to come and deliver the same… It will take an hour for that..

    NO reply till date

    For my Rs. 600 I have been made to write so many mails & go thru all the stress
    I would claim back my Rs.600/- at the earliest
    That’s all
