    The above pre-paid SIM was sold with life time validity. But now I understand the validity will be terminated on 1st NOV 2011. Why? I have not been informed in advance at all.

    You have disabled sending SMS from this mobile. May I know why?

    Contacting a customer care executive through 121 is just impossible. They are deliberately avoiding. They are charging heavily for this, even though it is supposed to be toll free.

    I had given this as a registered mobile No for many applications. With no SMS, I have lots of problem.

    I have given many complaints for this, but no response at all from Airtel.

    Please do something otherwise I may be forced to seek the help of Consumer redressal forum

    Hello,



    I own a broadband connection from Airtel in my wife's name here in Bangalore. The number is 080 42230987. Due to the FUP policy my download limit was decreased last month. Subsequently i placed a request for increasing my download limit on 29th of October. Now after 19 days i find that my tariff has been migrated to the higer amount but my download limit has not been changed. The customer care exec hung up on me thrice. The third time when i asked the exec to connect me to cancellation dept he lied that the dept works on 9 to 9. On some arguing he said he apologises for providing wrong information and he can connect me to cancellation dept. When i asked him to connect me to his supervisor, now the supervisor worked 9 to 9. After all this he hung up on me.

    Why are the customer care guys lying deliberately. I am wondering if there is any legal action i can take against Airtel now.

    My original SR number was 6415090.
    My interaction number of the lying exec is 47736962, his name was Roshan.

    Post complaint against two Airtel relationship center

    Date-21/11/2011

    sub- Grievance against -Bharti Airtel Head Office -No 101 Bharathi Towers, Santhome High Road, Santhome, Chennai - 600004,& adyar airtel relationship center.

    Dear sir,

    This is to intimate you that I lost my sim card on-18/11/2011...and on 19/11/2011 i personally visited ur main head office branch-"Bharti Airtel Head Office -No 101 Bharathi Towers, Santhome High Road, Santhome, Chennai - 600004"and requested for duplicte sim card for the following number-9600496356.
    they provided me the sim card and informed me it wil activate with in 48hours ...but today 21/11/2011 i went to adyar branch- adyar airtel relationship center,for the enquiry they intimated me the main branch "PROVIDED ME THE WRONG SIM CARD"my sim card belong to taml nadu sector they provided chennai sim card."I PAID AGAIN AND BROUGHT NEW DUPLICATE SIM CARD FROM ADYAR BRANCH BUT TIL NOW ITS NOT ACTIVATED"
    THEY SAID IT WIL ACTIVATE WIT IN 2 HOUR..but still its not activated...iam tired calling customer care service they are helpless..Please do the needful, I am much upset. Please revert me on my email id : vineshkumar002@gmail.com. I'll be very thankful to you.

    I have been a customer of Airtel broadband and landline for more than 2 years. I changed my mobile number a few months months ago and gave Airtel customer care agents the new number whenever I called them. Yet they had not updated my current working numbers.
    Recently I was unable to pay my bill and got reminders from Airtel. But after about a month, my airtel landline phone was also disconnected temporarily by Airtel due to non-payment.
    However, Airtel did have my permanent address as well as my email address.


    On the 23rd of December 2011, instead of contacting me, an agent from the collection agency representing Airtel made calls to one of my relatives. The relative informed me about it and I called the agent on the same number. The agent said, he had access to all the records of outgoing calls we make from 'my' Airtel landline phone. He had chosen three of the numbers we(my family) frequently make calls to from the Airtel landline and called up one of the numbers.
    Airtel does not have rights to provide other parties with such information. Even Airtel does not have the rights to call the people we contact through our landline phone personally. The fact that the agent had used such records without any sort of permission shocked everyone around me.
    The same evening I requested that my Airtel broadband and landline connection to be terminated. On the 24th of December 2011, a person from the Retention department of Airtel. I insisted that my landline and broadband connections may be terminated. He accepted it. He also tracked down the name of the collection agent I'd spoken with the previous day. Additionally he promised to escalate the issue & that necessary action would be taken within 48 hours regarding the agent's action and the insecurity of my records maintained by Airtel and that I would be informed about it.
    But as on 27th december 2011, I have not received intimation if any action was taken. So I called the Airtel customer care and was informed that the person from the retention department had closed my request for cancellation stating that I had accepted to being retained as a customer, which I definitely did not.


    Then my call was transferred to a manager who confirmed it and spoke only about the termination request but not the breach of integrity and privacy. Finally she took a complaint about the person from the retention dept. having untruthfully maligned my termination request. She went on to state that the issue was resolved from her end, which was also certainly wrong and misleading.

    Dear Sir,
    This is to intimate you that I am a Colonel in the armed forces and presently serving in Command Headquarters, Jaipur. I obtained mobile connection from AIRTEL having SIM no. 9001356736 during Nov 2011 after the usual problems of sim not getting activated even after the verification process being completed twice and after answering three calls from the Airtel executives. After 14 days of hard effort & visits to Airtel Relationship (??!!??) Centre I finally got my sim activated. After two months my balance started showing sharp dips regularly. On enquiring from the customer care I was informed to my horror that a cricket pack, a jokes pack & a shayari pack had been activated on my number and I was regularly paying for the same, even without my knowledge (in plain simple English this kind of conduct is called stealing - unbecoming of a company in dealing with its customers !!!!). On speaking to Mr Sandeep Jain, Nodal Officer, I was very sombrely informed that even if I open an unsolicited SMS sent to me by Airtel, the said service would be activated !!!!! imagine - first they sent me unsolicited SMS, then activated a service without my consent & then charged me for the favour. Also I was unabashedly made to believe by the good officer that it was my fault and the money could not be refunded. I got the DND ACTIVATED so that I don't receive any more of those devilish SMS from Airtel !!!

    All was OK for a couple of months, till Airtel found another way to rob me. On 15 April 2012, I recharged my account by paying Rs 399. I use Rs 98/- for 1 GB for GPRS which gets auto renewed on expiry. On 15 Apr 12 I received a sms from Airtel that my GPRS would be auto recharged in 3 days.. Very innocent sounding. On 18 Apr 12, in the morning I discovered to my horror that my balance of Rs 415/- of last night had been reduced to Rs 0.10 !!!! I could not call anyone !!! I was sitting in a field area with zero balance.. i had a comfortable Rs 415/- last night !!!! And customer care 121 says they would not attend to me as i dont have balance !!! On reaching back to Jaipur I enquired and was again told very arrogantly by the "Relationship (!!!) Manager" that I had been charged @ 10p for every 10 kb the whole night while my phone would have been downloading auto updates / push mails / notifications... Hence the zero balance... Again they say it is my fault !!!!

    I had opted for auto update of 1 GB GPRS service. That means i either get uninterrupted service or i get an clear warning that i would be charged at 10p for 10 kb ( Not an innocent message that my service will be autoupdated in 3 days..) Airtel decides on its own that it will not give me the service i opted and have been paying for regularly, for 3 days... Then it charges me a higher rate without clearly notifying me.. (uncannily on the night before the morning my service was to be auto updated !!!!) And then they refuse to attend to me, talk to me as if i am begging for something, while robbing me unabashedly.. Mr Sandeep Jain's number has been unresponsive and on AVR. As it is I know speaking to him would be a waste of time and money...

    Im sending a copy of this compliant along with associated documents to TRAI for perusal and am seeking your intervention on the issue for a needful action and refund of my hard earned money which Airtel has wrongfully appropriated. For info of Airtel, I am terminating mine & my family's connections with Airtel and posting my experiences on Facebook for the benefit of others so that they are not fleeced by a company which calls itself a friend of customers !!! Shame on You Airtel !!!

    Default GPRS pack 98 auto renew function seems fake

    I have my monthly GPRS pack in auto renew mode, yesterday it was last date and today it was about to auto renew but still it is not renewed, my mobile data connection was in online mode and now when i noticed my almost approx 43 Rs is gone from main balance just because package is not yet renewed. When tried to dial *567# it is saying Rejected and External Application Down.
    Auto renew not made on time, and this happened with me 1-2 times in past also and i called up the customer care for the same but only answer is that they cant help me out.

    Why it is a auto renew pack, surprised with it...
    its a purely fake auto renew function.
