    Angry Blackberry - Airtel

    We had a problem with one of our user blackberry handheld, we had sent that particular handhelds to Airtel Mumbai service center couple of times. Every time they(service center staff) used to reload the software, but problem didn’t get resolved, then they sent the hand held to Bangalore office for repair. It was ok for couple of days and we had the same problem again. Then we were promised that, if we face the same problem again with the hand held same will be replaced with new one.

    When we had the same problem again, they ask us to bring the handheld to service center then again Airtel service center people had reloaded the software, when same problem reoccurred, we requested for replacement which was denied saying now the device is not under warranty. They have coolly waited till the warranty get expired. Your advise is highly appreciated

    Default Blackberry Bold from Airtel, keypad peeling off

    Hi,

    I have bought a blackberry BOLD from Airtel (distributor-USHA International, Noida) costing 35000 INR on 28th March 2009.

    It has been only 7 months and i have problem with the trackball, keypad is peeling off, bezel is loosing its color.

    I have visited the Airtel cusotmer care service centre 'N' no of times and they have told me that the trackball will be changed under the warrant however i need to pay the cosmetic refurbishment charges if i need to get my keypad and bezel rectified.

    If they are treating me like this what about those who might have bought an average phone from them. I have seen number of blackberry forums where in people had same problems but their service provider AT&T, Verzon etc have covered this cosmetic refurbishment under the warranty period.

    Why Airtel is running away from this or why blackberry in India do not want to cover the same problem under warranty.

    I request you to please guide me how to take this forward.

    I have bought the most expensive handset from blackberry and still within 6 months i am facing so many problems. Whats the point of warranty then?

    Please advice.

    I have bought a blackberry BOLD handset through Airtel on 28th March 2009
    however within 6 months the keys have lost it colors also the bezel (silver
    line at the sides) is also loosing its color. Over and above this my
    trackball also started having some problems.



    I have sent the device for repair to one of the Airtel customer service
    centre for blackberry as it is under one year warranty. They told me that
    the trackball will be covered under warranty however they will charge
    cosmetic refurbishment charges for keypad and Bezel.



    I have bought a high end phone of 35000 INR and I do not expect it to get
    discolored in 6 months. Blackberry and Airtel are global names and this kind
    of service is not expected from them.



    Please suggest how I can proceed. I want to file a case against them.

    Dear Mr. Khan,

    I do not know what sort of action you are planning to take, the same blackberry handset is arond 15000 INR in US through service providers like AT&T, Verizon etc however Airtel is charning 35000 INR for the same set. One it is being locked by Airtel, two the keys and body is peeling off, loosing color in 6-7 months.

    Airtel do not want to cover it under warranty however AT&T etc are replacing the complete handset.

    I am trying to get connected to Blackberry concerned people, atleast they might help me out.

    A 35000 INR handset looses its keypad color and body color how is it possible?

    Are you waitinig for my warranty to get over?

    Hope you understand my concerns and would like to resolve it soon.

    I request consumer court team to suggest me the next steps to take this case forward.

    There has not been any movement in this case. the concern has been noted but no action has been taken for more than two months now. I request consumer court to suggest me how to file a case because i have lost my patience and i am no longer willing to wait for thier action.

    Please suggest urgently.

    My problem has been resolved. My Handset has been replaced. I would like to withdraw my complaint.
