This is a discussion on Motorola-Should be banned for poor service support within the Mobile Handset forums, part of the Mobile category; Motorola has the POOREST after sales service support even if the handset is under warranty period. The experience with motorola ...
Motorola has the POOREST after sales service support even if the handset is under warranty period. The experience with motorola & its service centres is really pathetic and causes mental harassment and wastage of time.
In my opinion, No company should be allowed to sell its products in the cities where it is not able to provide after sales support to customers.
The brief of my handset and its problem is given below:
Model: MOTOSLVR L9
IMEI No.: 356900011292928
Purchased From: SWITCH COMMUNICATION, 22, First Floor, Nehru Shopping Complex, Lawrence Road, Amritsar, Punjab, India.
Invoice No.38, Dated May 05, 2008
In Jan. 2009, the handset developed the problem of restarting. Therefore, I submitted the handset to Motorola’s Authorize Service Centre UCOM Technologies, Amritsar for Repair on Jan.05, 2009. They told me that they had to send the handset to Delhi for repair. After 15 days i.e. on Jan.20, 2009, I got my handset back. But I was surprised to find that the problem was not resolved and the service centre persons also have spoiled its vibrator and it was not functioning.
Second time again given for Repair to UCOM Technologies, Amritsar on Jan.24, 2009 and received back UNREPAIRED on Feb.05, 2009(after 12 days). I demanded the replacement of the set but the service centre told that Motorola refused to give replacement.
Third time again given for Repair to UCOM Technologies, Amritsar on Feb.12, 2009.Received back UNREPAIRED on Feb.25, 2009(after 14 days).
When I again went to them to submit my handset for repair, they told that the official service center of Motorola had changed to AHD Communications, Amritsar and instructed me to go there. This was really very pathetic.
Fourth time again, the handset was given for Repair to AHD Communications, Amritsar on Feb.26, 2009. They people also kept the phone with them and did not tell its status even after repeated phone calls for about one month.
I emailed the company a number of times. They always replied that they had sent my request to their service unit. But at the end of the day, there was no result. I was very much surprised by the behavior of the company in the whole process. They were not even willing to replace the handset knowing that the handset was in warranty period and had already been submitted 4 times to the Service Centres and they people were unable to repair it for last 3-4 months.
Finally, then I filed my complaint in District Consumer Redressal Forum on March 27, 2009 against the following :
1. Motorola India Ltd, Gurgaon , Haryana (Manufacturer)
2. Switch Communications, Amritsar (Dealer)
3. AHD Communications, Amritsar (Service Centre)
Now the case is with the honourable consumer forum....
