I had purchased a Sony Ericsson J-132 mobile phone (IMEI No. 357107025950892) with "Care Pack" (No. 47751) from Hotspot, Kingsway Camp on 22nd April 2009. The product within two weeks from purchase started giving major problems. So, I approached Hotspot on 8th May who asked me to deposit the phone with them for repairs and assured me that the product will be repaired by 15th May. However, even after going to them for more than three times on 15th, 25th May and 1st June, the phone has not been yet repaired and delivered to me and every time a further date for collection of mobile phone is given to me. Finally, on 1st June I sent an email of complaint to Hotspot but I did not get any response. Hotspot has charged me an extra Rs 300 over the phone for the "Care Pack" promising speedy service. The terms of the "Care Pack" also states that Hotspot has to take all reasonable steps to repair the product within seven days. However, it has been nearly a month and I have not yet received my phone.
Firstly, I was made to pay an extra Rs 300 for a service that was promised but was never given. This is clearly cheating on part of Hotspot. Secondly, I used my product for less than two weeks and it has been over a month since it has been sent for repairs. Clearly, there is an automatic deduction of one month time period from warranty period as I never got to use my phone. Thirdly, I was made to go to Hotspot three times unnecessarily. Hotspot has failed three commitments and my phone is not yet repaired and delivered to me.
Firstly, money be refunded to me for my product as Hotspot as already failed three commitments and has no credibility. OR Money for the "Care Pack" be refunded to me and a new phone in lieu of the faulty one be given to me. Secondly, compensation, for three failed commitments and extra time taken over seven days, be paid to me.
