    Thumbs down Constant problem with Nokia 5800

    :DI had purchased a Nokia 5800 Express Music (IMEI No: 354182022946709) on January 10, 2009 from Comp-Mart India Pvt. Ltd., DLF Phase – 4, SG-09, Galleria Market against invoice number INV/SG-09/4445/08-09.

    Within 1 week of the purchase, the phone started rebooting on its own. On around January 18, 2009, I took the phone back to dealer from where I had purchased it and they told me to contact Nokia Care Center in Gurgaon for rectification citing “that it may be because of the some software issue and that reloading the software will solve the problem.”

    Within a couple of days of this visit I took the phone to Nokia Care Center (Unlimited Solutions). I don’t have the service job sheet number of that visit. Unlimited Solutions claimed to have reloaded the software and that the problem will not reoccur. I also spoke with Nokia Customer Care on the same day enquiring about the GPS application and MAPS data.

    Within a few days, the rebooting problem reoccurred. This time I took the phone Nokia Care Center (Sheetla WLL) in Gurgaon on February 03, 2009 – reference job sheet # 115433527/090203/240. The support team again told me the same thing – “that it may be because of the some software issue and that reloading the software will solve the problem.”

    Within a few days the problem reoccurred and I took it back to Sheetla WLL service center and they started arguing with me about not wanting to send the phone to Nokia head office and saying “that I should try and use the phone without the MMC card as that may be the cause of the problem.”

    They finally agreed to send the phone to Nokia head office for review and the job sheet # 115433527/090217/98.

    When they finally replaced the handset, the replacement too has started giving problems. I had to endure weeks of persistent problems and numerous trips to Nokia Care Centers, and a wait of nearly two weeks before being given a replacement handset.

    The issue that I am currently facing is that while calling, sending SMS or browsing sites, the screen just vanishes or turns purple.

    It is extremely distressing to note that a company like Nokia treats its customers in such a shoddy manner.

    Hello,

    We have gone through your complaint, as you mentioned that the problem is occurring again and again, it means the fault is unrepairable, so ask the parent company for the replacement of the hand set or refund.

    Default Nokia, Most pathetic mobile phone

    On 17-11-07 as my phone has little problem with radio i have submitted
    at the nokia care center panjagutta,hyderabad. My phone was in a
    guarantee and the nokia service centre people told me to check back
    after 24-11-07 , and when i went there they said it was not serviced
    and asked to check back later , this has been happening and happening
    and some day after 1 month they told that i am going to get a
    replacement with in a week and when i went after 1 week i was give
    with phone that was completely worn out phone ,somekind of crap.

    I had a heated argument with them and after that these guys have
    promised to issue me with a refurbished phone and till now i was kept
    revolving around the nokia care centre .
    Its been already 5 months since i have submitted my phone for repair
    and i used it only for 2 months as i bought it on 9-9-07.

    And when ever i call up the nokia care center (30303838) these guys
    always tell me exactly the same as the service center guys tells and
    asks me to wait and again when ever i go to their care center i end up
    with some use less excuses by the care center people..

    Guys is there anything i can do.
    I have spent lot of time in this care center leaving my work behind
    and every time i end up with fake promises.

    Please let me know what i can do ...

    I am college student so i am not much aware of these cases so i need
    your help ..

    .i have a 5800 expressmusic,its been around 16 months since i bought it and it has got 4 major problems:
    1}USB not functioning{for which i got a rpeplacement}
    Foll problems occured in the replaced phone
    2}display gone
    3}Camera not working
    4}battery overheating
    currently i have given it in the
    borivali centre in mumbai for the camera problem.
    i bought nokia only because it is durable,guess it isn't so anymore...and i dont think the borivali centre is any good either,for starters they dont talk to customers properly...
    anyway ,i want to know the procedure for a full refund against my "perfect" cellphone.
    please help

    Hello,

    As you mentioned that you are facing the problem with your NOKIA 5800 again and again, it means the problem is irreparable and the product is faulty and need to be replaced. For that you need to register your complaint with their Customer care, and in case you are not satisfied with Customer Care response then send a written notice to the CMD of NOKIA, mention all the details in it, attach all the photocopy of relevant documents like bill, and the job sheet and ask them for the refund/replacement within the mentioned time in the notice.
    Wait for their response and revert us back.

    it's a commen problem with many nokia 5800. for eg. one is with me.

    Default Noikia 5800....the most undependeble smart phone...

    Until now in 1 year, I have lost the data in the phone 15 times, for being corrupted. Phone gets rebooted... I have lost many images, songs etc.
    I have licensed mobile antivirus, I download only from OVI store, but after that, this un-imaginable situation of rebooting and loss of data repeats again....
