Sub: - Samsung mobile Phone –Defects –Non rectification in spite of repeated requests
We wish to bring the following for your information and follow up action thereof:
Ref: - 1.Bill No.S1/BP/38343 dt 12/10/2008 of Balaji Plaza, Nellore for Rs.14, 300/-
2. Bill No.S1/ BP/ 43147dt.30/10/2008 of Balaji Plaza, Nellore for Rs.14, 350/-
As per the references cited, we purchased two Samsung 2On mobile sets from Balaji Plaza, Nellore. But the mobile sets encountered with many problems and not getting many of the features listed in the Samsung mobile phone manual (SCH- W619 user manual). We furnish herewith the details of complaints.
Complaint 1 :- On browsing of internet facilities
The phone website says the phone can be used in both RELIANCE and TATA communication systems. The phone manual says, if we press the centre button, the internet works on the phone depending on the service provider. While pressing the centre button, with reliance UIM card inside, it displayed “not allowed”.
The Samsung mail ( Transaction no: 2002283393) says only with TATA UIM, this feature works on the handset and RELIANCE UIM will not support this feature .The customer care personnel said ( BP no : 8408692437 ), the browser was designed for TATA and not for RELIANCE and the phone could be used only as a modem with RELIANCE UIM .
In the manual, it is mentioned that the “browser service on phone is available as per service provider”. In general, both RELIANCE and TATA provide internet facilities on handsets with a browser facility. So the above statement is not giving clear information about the fact that the internet browser won’t work with a RELIANCE connection. If Samsung had designed the browser only for TATA, they should have clearly mentioned it in the manual.
Samsung tried to entice the customer for buying the phone by hiding the facts and by giving a manual with no clear cut details on the features available.
It’s a matter of real shame while manufacturing a phone worth Rs 14000, Samsung did not care to design the browser for Reliance networks in spite of the fact that there are just only two cdma networks in India .Samsung being the number two cell phone manufacturer in the world should give value to the money taken from the customer.
Complaint 2 - On poor video quality
The phone website says the phone supports video in mpeg4 format. But the video quality is very poor and that the video could not be watched. The frames move very slowly. This complaint was not even attended by the service centre personnel.

The reply from the samsung side was negative as they said they designed it for tata and they cannot do anything about the internet browser for reliance customer.
