I had purchased a Motorola handset (model # A810) on 09/10/2009 bearing IMEI
356444020206249 .To my surprise in spite of buying a reputed brand I have been put
through lot of hardship and mental agony as the above mentioned handset has
given me repeated problems which I have appended below in the order of
events.
*Issue 1*
On using the phone it was noticed that the battery post a full charge was
lasting not more than an half an hour of talk time. I took the handset to
the authorized service centre –Redington India Limited on 18/10/2009,
wherein they said that the battery was faulty and replaced it with a new
battery post which the problem was arrested(Copy of service challan
attached).During
this period I was without a phone for 3 days as was not provided with a
substitute handset.
*Issue 2*
In the month of January 2010 the phone started hanging and the problem
persisted. The irony would be when I would have to make an urgent call the
device would hang. In one situation where I had to speak to my stock broker
to sell my scripts the phone hanged due to which I had to take losses in the
stock market.
Once again I took the handset to Redington India limited on the 13/01/2010
and the handset was returned on the 20/01/2010 post service of the mother
board(Copy of service challan attached).During this period I was once again
without a handset and had to resort to borrowing a handset from my neighbor.
*Issue 3*
Despite the handset being serviced the device again started hanging within
20 days during which period I was traveling on business to Delhi. I was
unable to connect with my clients and had to instead approached the service
centre in Delhi on the 1/02/2010 wherein the phone was with them for 17
days. During this period I had to keep going to STD booths to make phone
calls and was not reachable to my clients most of the time as my phone was
at their disposal.
The service centre claimed that the mother board was faulty and hence
replaced the mother board bearing IMEI – 356444020330114 and assured that I
would not face any further problem with the handset.
*Issue 4*
Post all the assurances from your their side that the mobile device would not give
me any further trouble on 10/03/2010 the phone had switched off during a
call. On switching back the phone I noticed the battery indicator was full
but again within five minutes the phone would power off automatically. This
problem continues to persist till date.
I have lodged a complaint with motorola on "info.in@motorola.in asking them to refund the amount paid for the phone as it is clearly faulty and beyond repair for which they replied that they replied
"thank you for writing us at Motorola Customer Care.
With reference to your mail regarding MOTOROLA A810, we would like to inform you that there no such Scheme or Policy is available through which we can provide you refund amount of cell phone along with compensation.
Warm Regards,
Vijay Sharma
