Subject: Nokia E71 could have caused serious burn injuries
Sir(s),
I have the owner of the writing to you on the above stated subject which pains me to narrate the following acts of commission and omission on the part of Nokia E71 mobile phone. I purchased the Nokia E71 mobile on 12-april-2009 with IMEI No: - 351940032823041 from Ambika Enterprises S.C.O - 42, Sector-11, Panchkula. On 7-march-2010, i.e. 5 days ago I was carrying the above said mobile in my trousers pocket and suddenly it starts heating up and to such an extent that I was not able to hold it in my hands and with great struggle I was able to switch it off and a pungent smell of burning starts coming out of it and to my great surprise its camera on the rear side got melted ,Here I would like to tell you that the camera was on standby mode as shown on the screen ,before this incident I faced this same problem i.e. camera on standby mode of its own and I have to restart the mobile by first switching it off but this is the first time that it turns into a FIRE BALL.
Then I visited the nokia care center they told me that it is burnt and nothing can be done now ,but I told them that it got burned of its own and as its under warranty and it could have caused serious burns to me or my son who usually plays with it ,please advice what is the fun of spending Rs.19,800 on nokia brand if they cannot do something and could have caused serious burn injuries to me or my son . Please advice what can I do now. Following acts of Nokia customer care part illustrate that it is not worthy of being retained as a well known brand in telecom industry which reflects adversely on Nokia service as also speaks volume about Nokia Customer Care service misconduct.
Now the mobile is lying with me as the Nokia care Center refused to accept it and only noted down the IMEI No and told me that they will call me in 2-3 days if something could be done otherwise there is no scope to change or repair it.
Please suggest me if no positive response comes from Nokia Care Center then how and what is the procedure to go to consumer court and to what extent it will be beneficial.
Regards,
Lakhbir Dhanoa
