This is with ref to Samsung Galaxy Mobile Phone i7500 bought from Univercell, Tirupur branch vide their invoice # TIR/9565 DTD 04/02/10. The IMEI # 353027031812072.
I had a problem right at the start regarding the battery not lasting longer. It would drain out in 4 hours inspite of me not using GPRS on my cell. I tried the service centre but to no avail. I have constantly trying to figure out how to use bluetooth and also download all my contact and messages on my computer as a back up but to no avail. I tried the customer service centre of samsung and i was told to update my windows xp and then i would be able to do all applications. I updated but nothing happened. I visited the service centre today and asked them to help me out, when the guys there told me that the Andorid platform does not support downloading the contact, messages etc to the computer as the software is outdated. When i raised a hue and cry when no applications can be used in this mobile it is as good as a cheap handset, the only difference being that this is got a touch screen, a 5 mp camera and 8 gb internal memory, for which i paid Rs. 15,000. If non of the applications can run then i would have gone for a cheaper handset which would have supported all apps and made life easier for me. When i started shouting, they put me on call to a senior executive by the name of Mr. Renee who handles the southern region. When i spoke to him, he clearly mentioned that this mobile will not support any apps and also the software cannot be upgraded to anroid 2.1. Why in the first place did samsung release such a phone which has got no value in terms of applications and also making the phone costlier. The manual clearly shows that bluetooth can be used, a PC studio CD was given for downloading etc. According to Mr. Renee, even PC studio will not support the phone.
I demand from Samsung that they rectify this problem and take up this issue seriously. I am giving the company a week to resolve this issue by either taking back this mobile and give me an option to upgrade or else i will courier this mobile to Samsung CEO as a charity gift which they can utilise for their own benefit.
Hope samsung will listen and does not force me to go the consumer court.
