Default Nokia Phone with bill pronounced as fake.

Here is what has happened with me:
I bought a Nokia 6600 model on 1st june 2005 from Devendra Telecom and
also a took a bill for the purchase. I was told that the mobile is a
genuine Nokia handset and will be covered under warranty (No warranty
card given, I am not worried about warranty. But concerned about being
sold a grey market phone) from the manufacturer. In the past week I
experienced some problems with the phone and went to a Nokia Care
centre (authorised Nokia service centre) where I was told that my
handset was a grey market handset and not covered under warranty. I
was not worried about the warranty part but was really worried about
the phone not being a genuine Nokia handset. So, I called up the
person from whom I had purchased the phone. He told me that it was a
"Parallel Import" and there are two service centres in bangalore who
will service my handset. When I went to one of these centres "Digital
Techno Services" it looked to me as a shady shop which obviously
couldnt have been a Nokia Authorised Service centre.
What I have been told multiple times by the dealer is that this is a
"Parallel Import" handset imported by "Unicorn Telesystems" so the
Nokia guys are not servicing it. But I doubt all this and feel that I
have been sold a grey market handset in the name of a genuine Nokia
    handset.
Although, I can pay for the repairs but I want to bring those people
to realise that they are selling grey market handset to people who are
ignorant about such a thing and duping gullible public.
Please advice me on how can I proceed on this and get justice.
    Thanks and Regards,

    Hi Members,

Beware of Devendra Telecom, Bangalore and others who wash their hands off
    and guide
you to unauthorised service centres. This is a regular happening and we
    should be careful
while purchasing.Let me quote that this is not the first problem with
    Devendra Telecom.

Lets be very frank, if you want the sets Rs 200 / 300 less than what is
    quoted by authorised
service dealer, you should suspect that it is a parralel import and be
    prepared for contigencies
    as quoted in your mail.

This is regularly happening and unless we desist from purchasing from
unauthorised dealers, we will land in
problems.I can only sympathise with the member and hope his/her problem will
    find some viable solution.

    All the best.

Actually it was not that I bought the phone there as it was cheap
compared to other shops rather just out of ignorance and also that the
shop was really close to my house.
What I need to figure out is that if there are other people who have
faced similar problems why dont we together file a case against these
people and bring them to realize that they cannot simply have their
way cheating people and making quick money by duping people of their
    hard earned money.
I am preparing to file a case against them and if there are other
people who have been in similar situations can let me know and we can
    do it together.
    Thanks and Regards,

Hi I have been in similar but for Camera he kept me in dark saying that he will give me warranty card in few days but never gave me. The camera was faulty, he never accepted that there is fault and then I came to know that he may have given me from grey market. I am also filing a case of cheating and fraud against him.

Me too trapped with these ppl:

    Hi guys ,
Beware of this Devendra Telecom.... Those ppl are cheaters...Recently by mistake I have given my mobile
to them thinking they are "really the solution partner of Nokia" for which they have put a board infront of
shop. The keypad digits "2", "5", "8" were not working. I have given my mobile to them and they promptly charged Rs. 100 service charge after asking me the whether the mobile is in warranty(There is one black guy who told this). I thought they were really authorized partner of Nokia. Then he said there would be some button or stripe problem due to to which it is not working. The guy told me he will call me after 2 hours about the real issue before going ahead with repair. I agreed to it. But the guy did not call me. Then I called twice one at 2 PM(He said Technician has
gone for lunch) and 5:30 PM he told the power ic has gone bad and to repair it will cost me Rs. 450. I said
give my mobile back with original condition. Then he said you collect your mobile tommorrow because they
have sent for repair at Devendra Telecom,Gandhibazar. I got scared they may replace my original parts.
At 6:30 I called again and asked whether I can get it today. Then One lady told the Gandhibazar shop closes
at 6:30 PM. But I searched the number from web and called to Gandhibazar at 8PM and they told they are opened till 9.30 PM. Then I called again to Devendra Telecom,Jayanagar and asked that Gandhibazar branch is still open till 8 PM, the guy again told the technician was not feeling well and so went home early. Again lies .

Day2: I went to shop again to get my mobile back. He said you need to pay Rs.450/- to get the phone repaired.
I thought If I will not pay the money they may replace my original parts. So I got my mobile back by paying Rs. 450 more and it was sometimes working and sometimes not. They also gave a fake bill, but didnot give me the original receipt. That means they are cheating the goverment also by not paying the sales tax. He had given me a old transistor which costs Rs. 2/- outside and told me that as power ic that got replaced. Then again after 3-4 hrs my keypad was not working again. I told give my money refund. But the guy told me give me the mobile again and I will the mobile back for which I was opposing. They wanted to experiment on my mobile which I denied. I went to the police station to lodge acomplaint against them but most of the policeman were away for election duty. Finally he did not pay me my money back. He also assult me with bad words...

I would like to appeal strict actions needs to be taken against these cheaters.
