Default Overcharging and non supply of bills

    dear all,
this is regarding the hutch phone connection which i had bought in the month of oct 2004 with internet connection charging rs 499/- pm, beginning from my first month's bill i never got a bill delivered to me at all, however i kept informing the same to the hutch customer care that pls in future kindly deliver the bill so that i can easily track my payments and expenditure. which they failed all through, even after my repeated requests no bill was delivered and i was using the phone with 150/- rental and 499/- internet plus clip chrges and etc. we had intentionally bought this phone for internet only. the net never ran for the almost the full month of december and on enquiring I was repeatedly informed that there was a technical problem and would be sorted out soon. then i requested the customer care to please waive off my internet charges for the month of december as their was no service, on which i was told that the service is activated from my side immaterial it is working or not I will be charged, surprising!!!!! however i made another payment of 1000/- towards my dues as min payment and requested them for the bills, but no success and again in feb i was told to deposit 500/- which i did and continued using the connection, it was end of feb when i was informed by a friend of mine that hutch has already increased
charges which i must stop using as it is very expensive. i called hutch and informed them to discontinue my connection and send me a bill. i never got anything from 2 months and now after 2 months collection dept. calls me rudely and asks me for a payment of 5200/- as my outstanding dues. no bills,
no intimation of increase in charges and now suddenly somebody is trying to break the ice on your head.
    i need suggestions here.
    pls help
    rgds

    Angry Hutch Bill Payment

    Hi!

I am surprised at this attitude of Hutch. I have been using Orange for quite some time now, and never had problems with bills per se (now that I am a prepaid customer, I don't need to bother!)
Nonetheless, I agree with you on one aspect - very typical of the phone cos. To increase charges and not inform the consumers. But when you ask them why you were not intimated, they have a standard reply "our advertisements talk about it in almost all leading newspapers"
I would suggest talk to them to come to a reasonable and amicable solution. Rs.5000 is not a big amount for them to really spend a lot of time on collections.
Demand to speak to someone senior in collections, or demand to speak to the customer care Head. I am sure they will be glad to help.
