I am a vodafone user in Mumbai since 2004 and have paid all bills regularly. For my bill cycle dated: 7-March-2012 till 06-Apr-2012, bill generated on 07-Apr-2012, I am charged a servicetax @ 12.36 % including education& SHE cess. I understand that new gov. serice tax of 12.36 % is starting from 01-Apr-2012 and NOT from March 2012, then how can VODAFONE charge me a serice tax of 12.36 % for the month of march 2012 inclusive. They have to have 2 cateogries one of 10.3 % till 31-march-2012 and other of 12.36 % from 01-apr2012 onwards. I have talked to customer care and also written to vodafonecaremumbai and they have responded saying that it is the policy and that they cant generate 2 service tax for one billing cycle and that since bill is generated in april 2012 I will have to pay the bill with extra service tax only.I cannot understand how can VODAFONE interpret the gov's new tax rules on their own and cheat their customers.I need the refund from vodafone. I have written back to them and they just say it has gone to seniors for clarification, but it has been a week now and no response.There may be many more users who must be having this problem, so pl. raise your voice and get our money back from vodafone.Thanks, Shivendra
