This is a discussion on Harassment from Vodafone with Billing Issue. within the Mobile Billing Problem forums, part of the Mobile category; Respected Sir, I used to use a postpaid connection with Vodafone which i had been using for over 10 years ...
Respected Sir,
I used to use a postpaid connection with Vodafone which i had been using for over 10 years and had no issues. Due to a temporary financial crunch i had opted to use TATA DOCOMO gprs through a recently purchased Samsung Duos (dual sim) mobile phone for using internet on my pc(i usually use broadband). I had placed the TATA DOCOMO sim card in the primary slot and Vodafone in the secondary slot mainly due to Vodafone's better network. I had properly configured the phone and the pc with TATA DOCOMO settings which i got from Customer Care and began to use it. I used it for a month and to my totally unexpected surprise , Vodafone billed me approx Rs. 8000/- for my bill for that period and on checking with customer care it was due to gprs usage. I argued with customer care and advised them to waive the gprs charges since i did not use Vodafone gprs but they claimed than since i was using a dual sim phone, it may have latched on to Vodafone network which i do not believe. Following all arguments i eventually i decided to cancel all my other postpaid connections with Vodafone and paid the dues for all others except this one advising them to bill me for my calls and sms and i would be more than happy to pay my dues but not the dispted gprs charge. I mean Rs 8000/- for using gprs ??? I also visted the Vodafone store but even they (as usual) were unwilling to help. I decide i would not pay anything till they settle this. Eventually after a few months i received a legal notice from an attorney representing them to pay these dues. I called one of the numbers listed to explain what had transpired. The agent from the collection agency (sandesh) had a long discussion with me and after everything i advised him and how absurd charging 8000/- for gprs was (amt due was now 9575/-) we mutually agreed that i would pay 6000/- (i had no choice) and it would be a done deal. He sends 2 collection guys to my house and when i asked them for the settlement letter, they said we cannot issue it to you. I asked them how can you expect me to pay a settlement amount without you giving me a settlement letter. They called Sandesh again and hge said yoiu pay this amt and i would courier you the settlement letter within 4 business days. Allthough i insisted on the letter at that time he said he could not give it to me then. I took his word for it saying it would all be settled only to follow with another collections agent coming to my house again after 3 months asking me to pay the balance 3575. When i explained to him what happened he said he should have given you a settlement letter. Why did u pay without that. I have been trying since then (Sandesh is nowhere to be found now) and others say the amt i paid was a part payment. I mean how would they accept a part payment from a legal notice i received unless we had a settlement. And emails come in again with the typical lines..inspite of several attempts you have still not paid...blah blah blah.. This is harrassment at the highest level, I wish to sue Vodafone for harassment.
Kindly help me with this matter
Thanking you

This is in reference to my earlier article dated 04-02-2012 about vodafone. My mobile no. with vodafone was 9820450850 which is now being used by a different customer. As mentioned in my previous article i had done a settlement with vodafone of Rs. 6000/- from a total due of approx Rs 9500/- to which they said they could not issue me a settlement letter instantly but would mail me the same. I never recd it and had multiple visits to the vodafone store which is totally useless. They NEVER followup with you. Now Vodafone is at it again and is sending me mails about the balance ignoring the fact that it has been settled to my email id: cyber_music_2000@yahoo.com. This harrassment is now getting too much and i really want to take some action against Vodafone.
