I approached Airtel for unfair bill generated for the month of November but no one respond to my grievance suitably. I explained my trouble to Airtel Customer Care then Airtel Nodal officer and then Airtel appellate office respectively. But all of them gave same answer leaving behind my point of concern. So distressed with Airtel, I am writing to you.
1) I choose Airtel post paid services on 30th Aug’11. Bill Plan of 199/-.
2) I activated a plan of 149/- for GPRS services.
3) The first bill generated on 5th Sep’11. The billing amount is 1327.15/- (for only 6 days)
4) Out of 1327.15/-,1133.60/- was value added services. I approached customer care for not giving any discount as per the plan then they informed me as I used third party web browser GPRS plan got activated and the bill generated accordingly.
5) I took above bad experience as a lesson and paid the amount.
6) After learning that 149/- plan is of no use, I activated a plan of 199/- 2GB plan.
7) The second bill generated on 5th Oct’11. The billing amount is 1135/-
8) As I used GPRS services without proper plan for two to three days, the bill raised to such amount.
9) I got my bill on 7th or 8th of October and checked for break up.
10) Here I observed, they claimed only 99/- for GPRS plan instead of 199/-. So I called customer care for this on the same day (7th or 8th Oct). Then they informed me that an offer was availed to my number as my hand set is N8. The offer is 2gb free for 2 months. This been activated on 23rd of Sep’11.
11) Here they automatically deactivated my opted bill plan and gave an offer which I never asked for and this I got to know only after September month’s bill generation. 12) While having communication with customer care on that day I was informed that my plan automatically deactivated to avail the benefit. The free offer going to be deactivated on 23rd Nov and my old bill plan of 199/- is going to be activated automatically. 13) The third bill generated on 5th Nov ’11 and I paid accordingly. 14) Now here starts the point of concern and my grievance for the fourth bill i.e, November bill. 15) I received an outstanding bill of 4606.58 for November on 5th Dec’11. This is dreadful to me. 16) Here after going through the bill I observed that I was charged for GPRS data uses from 23rd Nov’11-4th Dec’11.I learnt that after expiry of free plan, my old plan is not got activated as it should be. 17) I explained this to every level of Airtel that if they activate any offer automatically and deactivate any chosen plan, it’s their responsibility to activate the initial plan after expiry of the offer. 18) It is an offer they offered me automatically. They deactivated my bill plan. After expiry of the offer they must re activate my bill plan. This is unfair. I used the data in the pre context of the information given by Airtel customer care associate that my plan will be activated automatically. I was totally kept in dark. And now they are asking me to pay the amount. 19) It is very high amount. I cannot pay that amount and being it is Artel’s mistake. 20) I was happily using 199/- plan and paying monthly 199/-is not a problem. Now they gave free for two months and gave a burden of 3600+360/-(tax) for the third month. At any time I’ve not asked for any offer, I did not deactivated my GPRS plan. It is Airtel took a ride of me.
