    Default Airtel database updates/sim surrender issues

    Dear Sir/Maam,

    I took an airtel postpaid connection in Sep 2007, however as I dint have my pfotograph the agent suggested I take it in my friends name so that the activation is done sm0oothly. As he metioned, he collected my documents with in a week and said he will submit for name and address change. Also he suggested I take a scheme for Rs. 50 for cheaper STD rate(which I took). The scheme was never activated and whne I called up the Customer care they said teh number is not in your name. I follwed up twice/thrice and forgot.

    In Dec 2009 my phone got locked and had to get a new Sim card, whne i went to contact center they said the number is not in my name and I have to get a xerox & signed copy of friends pan card and my address proff against which tehy will issue me a new one and change the data. I told them that I ahve already submitted teh docs long time time back.....but they said that they cannot trace it and theywont eb able to follow up. I again submitted the docs. They issued me a new sim card.

    This year March 2011, i wanted to surrender my number, i went to the branch with Sim card, they again saidthe number is not in your name and we cannot close it. This was after i ahve submitted the documents twice and followed up so many times....they keep directing me from 1 solution to another. Now my friend in whose name I too the Sim is in US. I am utterly disappointed by their reminders to pay teh bill when I am not even using the phone and its because of their document mis handling that i am unable to surrender.

    Thei job ends after a connection is activated is what they feel.

    Please advice!

    Default unable to chat to airtel customer executive though

    I tried a lot or even made a lot of efforts to be resolved the problems regarding airtel sim...Bt I cudnt make myslf even a single time to the customer executive of airtel...Was it the problem due to the portability..Even Whn I want to recharge through freecharge.com site n whn I entered my number Even though Its nw of airtel,Comes under vodafone..What sud I do?From my cell also,whnvr I wannu chat with an executive of airtel,i cudn't...Gv me the best way to confirm dat My number is under airtel nw
