This is with reference to the calls made by an Airtel representative who called himself Mr. S.K. Rana on 4-Jul-09. Above mentioned person threatened me and my family with dire consequences if I did not pay Rs 3000/- to Airtel.
To give you the background, I was holding a post paid connection of Airtel mobile services in Bangalore for around 3 years till April 2008 and I used to pay my bills by ECS mode wherein monthly bills are deducted from my credit card. I made a request to Airtel to cancel my connection in March 2008 since I was moving to Delhi; I was suggested not to cancel but to transfer the same connection to Delhi. The same connection was then transferred to Delhi and I was given a new Airtel post paid number for Delhi NCR region.
I saw a transaction of Rs 206/- in my credit card statement of Feb ’09 in the name of “Bharti SI” and the same transaction was present in all the monthly statements of my credit card for the past year. Upon checking with Airtel, I came to know that this entry was for my Bangalore Airtel number and since then I’ve been trying to get this issue resolved with Airtel; I’ve sent them multiple mails, I’ve called their Delhi and Bangalore customer care numbers multiple times and answered all their customer care calls but none of these have resulted in any resolution. I decided not to pay Airtel bills because they did not seem to be willing to resolve this issue and instead they kept charging Rs 206/- from my credit card every month. I had to cancel my credit card because of them.
On 4-Jul-09 I got calls from their representative who, as mentioned above, threatened me and my family of dire consequences if I did not pay the bill.

I contacted police on the same but did not receive any credible help and kept receiving calls. The recovery department somehow got my parents' number and started calling them. It was then that I had to succumb to the pressure and pay the amount to them. Since then, I've not received any calls from them but I've been restless since then for obvious reasons. I've also not received any money back from Airtel Bangalore.

I'd like to know whether someone can help me here?
