I was using a Vodafone cell - 9819902825 on post paid connection. I had cleared the September 2010 bill, cash paid at Borivli Vodafone store and have the receipt as proof.
Donno how, but the cash paid is not registered in their system. I had gone to sort out matters at the same store, but was instead told that the receipt is just a machine receipt, not a cash receipt. The customer care rep also had the gall to tell me that I had put an empty envelope into the machine. I was asked to follow up with camera footage from the Citibank branches to prove that I, indeed have paid the amount.
The customer care rep was not at all helpful in sorting out the matters. I am using that SIM since years now, and I cannot believe that they did not even bother investigating the matter. I believe whatever tie-up they have between Citibank for the payment is not my problem, I am a Vodafone customer, not a Citibank customer. And if they have the process of accepting cash, the receipt should be a cash receipt, not a machine receipt. (Its as simple as counting the money on the spot). At least, this will not result into hindsight matters.
My job has me travelling to Delhi, and since this is a Mumbai number, I am not able to regularly follow up on this. And dont know how this matter will be sorted out without some upper intervention.
Needless to say, the services are cut and the bills are still pouring in. I am prepared to clear any bills later than September, but repaying the September bill again, just to get matters cleared up will really hurt my conscience. Please help.

Hi, my alternate number is 08527135595. Please let me know if any further details required. Would be glad if this is sorted out as soon as possible. As I had gone to Vodafone store to at least cancel the SIM so that the bills stop where they are right now, they refused without all the bills paid. So now I am going to be charged the rentals with no service at all!!! Appreciate the help.
