    Default Criminal Intimidation by Airtel recovery agents to my family and friends

    I have been an airtel post paid customer for the past two years. My initial credit amount was 1500 rupees which i did not have a problem with. Subsequently, everytime I made my bill payments airtel kept increasing my credit amount, without my permission. Couple of months ago, while I was on roaming they increased my credit limit to an exorbitant amount of Rs 7500, without my knowledge. Since I was unaware of my credit limit as I didn't get any calls or messages by them, I kept using my phone unaware of what my escalated credit limit was. I thought it must be what it normally is and once the limit has reached my phone will get disconnected.

    I decided not to pay the bill when i realised that I have been charged Rs 6,500! It was absolutely irresponsible of airtel to increase my limit to that amount without my permission.

    They started calling me and DEMANDED that i make the payment immediately. I told them politely that I will as soon as I get the money, since I genuinely did not have so much of money, as this was totally unexpected. The recovery executive, Aarti, kept on calling me 10 times a day harrassing me to make the payment. I stopped answering her calls. What followed is a NIGHTMARE and a severe CRIMINAL OFFENCE. Aarti, started calling all my relatives and friends asking them for my alternate number. When they said they did not have any alternate number of me, she started INTIMIDATING my relatives and friends with dire consequences!!!

    She abused my relative and couple of my friends and insulted my mother several times over the phone very often screaming at her.

    Inspite of talking to their supervisor Harshavardhan Patil, Assnt Manager, Airtel Recovery, Mumbai, their atrocious torture hasn't stopped. They threaten to keep doing what they are doing.

    Who has given them the permission or rights to torture, harass, intimidate and abuse my relatives and friends??? They got the numbers of my friends and relatives from the database. They started calling all the numbers from which I used to get calls and to the numbers I used to call! can you imagine that?

    All this when I told this shameless executive Arti, that I'll make the payment as soon as possible! Now I don't get this... who gives them the permission to unduly escalate my credit limit to ridiculous proportions without our consent? shouldn't they be asking us whether we can handle that amount of credit balance?

    They escalate the credit amount without either your knowledge or permission and then intimidate your family, friends, colleagues and every person who has ever called you on your number, when you are unable to pay on time!

    The worst part is, when I spoke to the Assnt Manager, Harshavardhan Patil, he said he doesn't care if I complained to the consumer court or even a criminal court.

    I want to teach them a lesson. They have played with my reputation, by calling almost every person I know and telling them that I haven't paid the bill, they have intimidated my family and friends with dire consequences when they politely informed them that they did not have my alternate number. They have ABUSED (USED VULGAR CUSS WORDS) on one of my relative and couple of my friends.

    And they tell me blatantly that they are not scared of any court, consumer or criminal, and are above any law of India.

    Default Airtel Recover Agents call All your friends and Relatives

    I have been an airtel post paid customer for the past two years.

    I have had a similar case and would like to bring the perpetrators to justice. Not Airtel but the agencies who threaten and call people and harass them.

    As a RTI act, I would like Airtel to disclose the contact details and numbers of the abusers, so I can take legal actions against them.

    Post Criminal Intimidation by Airtel recovery agents to my Room owner.

    I was using Airtel postpaid connection +91-9987082235 from more then a year. I got relocated to different Location requested Customer care to disconnect my connection. But Airtel didn't disconnected my connection.


    Now Airtel guys started harrassing and abusing me and my old house owner which is totally against law.

    This was totally unexpected. The recovery executive, Ritu kept on calling me n times a day harrassing me to make the payment. Ritu, started calling all my relatives and friends asking them for my alternate number. evem after getting my alternate number she abusing them.

    As a RTI act, I would like Airtel to disclose the contact details and numbers of the abusers, so I can take legal actions against them.


    She is even asking me to transfer some money to her to close this matter.

    I have been an airtel post paid customer for the past two years. and my number was 9755516000 and i paid all my bills regularly without any fail for the past two years but since this wa time of april 2011 i went to malysia for a vaccation trip i asked airtel to activate international roaming to my number and asked about the tarrifs to be charged to me they said that my calling rate would be 75 rs per minute and my gprs will not get activated in international roaming i saiid tht its ok with that and my credit limit to my phone was 9500 which means after excedding this limit my call will be blocked well when i returned back from malaysia after a week wat i found that my airtel bill was 90,000 i just got shocked tht its not possible i havnt made that much call that bill will come to that level and although my credit limit was 9000 after a month i started getting call from airtel for payment of bill but i asked them first provide me the details of my calling than later i got the details and after seeing that i was shocked that entire charges of 75000 was of gprs usage that meas in my entire tour i had used nonstop gprs continuesouly without sleeping a minute and for this i said i will not pay the bill unless and untill my case is been solved and this was been solved in the month of october and bill was settled for rs 11000 and i given them a post dated check that to after diwali and due to diwali i forgot to deposite my amount to the account and check get dishounered and again i got a call from them i said ok its my fault u send someone to take the cash from it this time the call was from chandigarh some person named Rohit Gill called me up he said he will be sending the executive to collect my money but still no one came to collect and he started thretning me

    Default Improper billing and harassment by the Recovery Ag

    I had been an airtel customer for an year and was using the number 9900061454. I bought a new android phone and gprs was activated already on it. Since the phone interacts some applications, I received one month bill for approx Rs 3000 of which 450 was the call charges and the rest of them were the GPRS charges. Since I hardly use GPRS on my mobile, I called up customer care to disconnect any such services because the amount was exorbitant. The airtel customer care didn’t respond to it and the bill for 3 months rose to Rs 14000. Since my Credit Limit is Rs 3500, I cannot figure out how Airtel can send me the bill of Rs 14,000 for services which I hardly use. I called up the customer care like 100 times to get the issue sorted but they never came back to me with a solution. Then I decided to discontinue my services and opted for Vodafone. At every point in time, and you can check you call logs, I always talked to the customer care to pay the amount that I used and refused to pay for the GPRS amount that amounted to Rs 12000 out of the total bill. I decided not to pay till the time my bill was revised. How can you charge me more than my credit limit?

    After few months, the recovery agents started coming to my office address and started talking in abusive languages and snatched my Office ID card. I told the incident to my security which later recovered the ID card. After that incident, the agents have been calling my family and friends and telling them that I have been sending sleazy/inappropriate messages to some females and harassed them. The recovery agent called up my mother and threatened to kidnap me whenever I will leave my house/office. I am filing an FIR on this issue and a consumer court complaint for the harassing behavior of the recovery agent (Mob No 9741144111) and inappropriate billing by Airtel. I cannot be charged above the amount that I have agreed upon as Credit Limit and the recovery agent has no rights to harass my friends and family. If the issue is not resolved within a couple of days, I will go ahead with a Legal action against Airtel and file a FIR against the recovery agent.
