Hi,
I have 2 connections from Vodafone. One of the connection is used by my wife and her employer pays a bill to an extent of Rs.800 directly to vodafone and the bill difference is to borne by us. I intended to transfer the connection to my wife as she was using the same, for this in october '08 we walked to vodafone center for transfer (from my name to my wife's name). All papers were accepted and said they would be processed with in 7 days. However, we received a call after 10 days, stating the transfer cannot take place as the documents are not clear, which were originally verfired by the customer service executive at the vodafone store. We were asked to visit their store again for re-submission of documents. We did not want to go thru the pain of visiting the store and we did not visit.
However, for this the connection, vodafone had changed billing plan without my consent twice between 30th October '08 and 16th Jan '09. During this period my mobile service was disconnected due lower credit in my account bcoz of plan change done by them. My wife was harassed for payment of Rs.600 every day and after making many complaints, the plan was changed to original plan by 16th Jan, however during the wrong plan we were billed huge amounts. The vodafone center which initiated the plan change without our consent agreed to rework on the bill in Jan ‘09. In Feb '09 bill the rework did not happen, however, we were shocked to see a whooping amount charged for old months without any rework in March ’09 bill. We complained to the customer service dept of vodafone, they simply denied to give any information and said that they would continue conversation only if the payment was made, we were called as defaulters for no reason of ours. On 30th March we had requested for the account statement from June ’08 till March ’09, but account statement was sent only for feb & march. As we had travel plans - due to parent’s hospitalizaion, we had to clear the entire amount on the bill to ensure our line was active when we were on roamining. After returning to Mumbai we spared time to visit the Vodafone center which made all the goof ups.
We were told that we should wait for 72 hrs for any assistance on the complaint registered. We were made to wait for 3 hrs at the center for giving a confirmation that our bills will be reworked.
Today, they are passing on a credit to my account for the excess billing they had done to my account. However, we need refund of amount, else if they pass on the credit to this connection it will get adjusted in the billing and employer need not pay any payment.
My amount shelled out of my pocket will never return to me.
I want to take this up in the consumer court. We have been made to go thru mental trauma running behind Vodafone, harassment for non payment, loss of money and time visiting Vodafone stores all for no fault of ours.
How do I go about it?
Thank you.
