    Default Harrassments of Airtel when Refunds are Claimed

    Dear Sir/Madam/Automated Answering Neuter Gender Machine,

    I am extremely dissatisfied with the services of airtel. I have note
    received any useful resply from 121@... tomy requests
    to refund my refundable deposits (Please refer to my earlier e-
    mails). I also tried to send fax messages to the following numbers,
    09845500121, 09845600121, 09845270777. These numbers are
    consistently coming engaged for hours. I have serious doubts that
    someone has delibeately kept them engaged not to receive messges.
    why are customers facing such problems when they are claiming their
    refunds, which are refundable amounts. Should Airtel India be taken
    as an organization of low morale following lowest levels of ethical
    practices? Should customers resort to legal actions under the
    Consumer Dispute Redressal Act against such harrassment ? The
    customer care executives are of no use to the customer under such
    circumstances. The customers are just spending money on calling to
    09845012345 on STD charges to listen to boring, rather irritating
    music and yet more irritating automated replies.

    If at all any human being is reading this mail can I expect him/her
    to be sensible enough to resolve such issues or at least take some
    initiative in this direction.

    Thanks Guru for raising the issue. I have similar complaint against Airtel.
    I have shifted from Bangalore to Gurgoan and given my written request for
    cancellation (of my mobile 9845693316) and refund.it's still working on
    raoming in Gurgoan after more than 20 days and their executive in Gurgoan
    say that you have to go back to Bangalore to cancel the mobile or to even
    lodge the complaint.They are very quick to give a new connection but does
    not want to close a connection.I also have no resort except to continue to
    pay for it as all phone requests are falling on deaf ears.

    I too experienced the worst deplorable services of Airtel. I had a mobile
    connection last year from Airtel and without my consent, they have
    nullified/deducted the deposit amount paid for roaming services and while asking
    for refund due to their poor services, they have forwarded an invoice stating
    that I did not pay two months bill for the usage. To this effect, I have written
    to Mr Mittal and had correspondence with all levels at Airtel and no one could
    do any action in favour to its customer. Infact, the services at the grass root
    level is very poor in reality its attrocious. Their DSA/Agents are goondas and
    they too pester you if you are not toughf. After several correspondences, they
    have send me a lawyer notice for which I replied to the Advocate in writting
    with all details/copy of correspondences I had and he kept quite.


    Now after 8 months plus, they have send me another notice. Infact I'm planning
    to file a case aganist the company for breach of trust and humiliation. There is
    no authority in INDIA to control these sort of mobile companies. At all levels,
    they are bribed and noone will help the poor customers.


    If you ask me my opinion, we need to protest aganist the licencing authorities
    with out any proper guidelines, they are given licences if not neglected for
    their misdeeds by taking bribes.


    I wonder how these celebrities / noted figures from Film industry or sports are
    endorsing these mobile companies. Now you can see SRK advt appearing on all most
    evey channels. His Advt is very bad and for money sake he has done it. I feel
    SRK should'nt have done it. A very bad cheap advt by Airtel.

    Rs 100 if your claim amount is less than 4 lacs and case is being filed in

    Dear Friends,

    A leading bank has delayed payment to a exporter by 15
    days. Infact the exporter located on 15th day that the
    payment was lying in his branch after contacting Head
    office, which had records that payment was credited to
    their branch on 15 days back.

    The branch person responsible for same everyday
    replied when contacted that no payment has come from
    abroad.

    What should be claimed / done to get compensation ?
    how much ?

    Suggestions invited please.

    I agree with you. Airtel is following a monopolistic policy with low morals
    and abysmal levels of ethics. These activities must be collectively protested
    against. I think we should raise the matter to Telecom Regulatory Authority of
    India. There is an urgent need for Telecom Ombudsman in India. There should also
    be intervention of Consumer's Rights Protection Groups.

    This is perhaps the first time that I'm gonna reply
    for the issue. well after reading all the mails I do
    understand the problems that you guys are facing. I
    can give you a simple solution for this. All you need
    to do is instead of claiming the deposit, you can use
    the card for that value of the deposit and them ask
    them to cancel out with the same. this way you will
    not need to go behind them asking for a refund. Also
    if you are disconnecting the line, give a written copy
    and get it signed and sealed by any authority there
    and have a copy of the same with you. this is
    abundant proof that you have requested for
    disconnection and that they have acknowledged the
    same. These companies are smart and we need to be
    smarter. Hope this will help you guys in future.

    In regards to your mail below, I would like to bring into your knowledge
    that no telecom company is legally bound to entertain any request for
    discontinue the services prior to full payments against their dues
    whatsoever.

    Someone understood the issue upside down. The full payment has been made and
    the service has been discontinued. Still if they want to serve me then I dont
    mind. But I wont pay for that service and especially as far as Airtel is
    concerned it's a little too irritating to be served by Airtel even without
    paying for it. All of Airtel are irritating ........ They suck irritatingly.
    Noone would pay money if Airtel Sucks them. They would rather charge money to be
    sucked.

    What to say more about it.

    Using the card for the same value seems to eb a good idea but by then I had
    shifted to Chennai form Bangalore and if I would have used the same card on
    romaning mode it would have costed me more money and given me lessa talk time
    for the same value. Secondly, there is no way to track how much you use. So if
    you use for more than that value they will bill you again and that too on
    roaming mode.

    I wonder why should they (Airtel) show all these stupid reasons when refunds are
    claimed. Lets be gentlemen and do business. It is a refundable deposit and has
    to be gracefully refunded when the accoutn is closed. It can be refunded by a
    crossed cheque, sent by registered post with acknowledgement due form attached
    to it so that there is enough evidence that the cheque has been received by the
    claimant and it haas been credited to the claimant's account.

    I can clearly see the farce behind this bureaucratic red tapism. Corporates
    are not like government organizations which have 1000s of rules and regulations.
    If they got to stay in the market they just got to trim and streamline their
    processes and also follow ethical standards with high moral values and also HAVE
    SOME SELF RESPECT FOR THEMSELVES. As I said earlier, lets be gentlemen to do
    business.
